Purpose: To describe the first report of third eyelid cartilage eversion in an adult American Quarter Horse mare.
Case Presentation: A 22-year-old American Quarter Horse mare presented to the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center Equine Hospital for a 2-week history of a third eyelid cartilage abnormality of the left eye with no known recent trauma. Complete ophthalmic examination revealed third eyelid cartilage eversion of the left nictitans. The abnormal scrolled cartilage was surgically excised using a handheld cautery unit and submitted for histopathologic evaluation.
Results: Histopathologic findings displayed normal third eyelid cartilage, without evidence of neoplasia or inflammation. Mucosal hyperplasia and increased vascularity of the submucosa were observed. The horse healed well after electrocautery excision and normal third eyelid conformation was restored.
Conclusion: To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of an acquired, presumed spontaneous, third eyelid cartilage eversion in a horse.

This study aimed to evaluate ocular surface temperature (OST) in post-COVID-19 patients with different degrees of fever via infrared thermal imaging. There were 16 participants (32 eyes) in the control group, 22 participants (44 eyes) in the moderate and low post-COVID-19 fever group (M & L fever group), and 18 participants (36 eyes) in the high post-COVID-19 fever group (H fever group). All participants underwent an ophthalmic slit lamp examination and ocular thermography.

Objective: The aim of this study is to assess the comparative effectiveness of transorbital sonography (TOS) and the pupillary penlight visual assessment method in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and periorbital hematoma.
Methods: A total of 140 patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI), meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, were selected from a tertiary hospital in Zhejiang Province between January 2022 and December 2023. Pupillary function in all patients was assessed using both TOS and the pupillary penlight visual assessment method on the first, third, and seventh day after admission.

Conjunctival malignant melanoma is extremely rare, with no standard of care established at moment. Here we report a 65-year-old woman, as a hepatitis B virus (HBV) carrier, who presented concurrently a liver mass and lower bulbar conjunctival pigmented lesions in the right eye. Needle liver biopsy and excisional conjunctival biopsy showed hepatocellular carcinoma and conjunctival malignant melanoma , respectively.
