In the past decade, biopharmaceutical research and development in China has been notably boosted by government policies, regulatory initiatives and increasing investments in life sciences. With regulatory agency acting as a strong driver, model-informed drug development (MIDD) is transitioning rapidly from an academic pursuit to a critical component of innovative drug discovery and development within the country. In this article, we provided a cross-sectional summary on the current status of MIDD implementations across early and late-stage drug development in China, illustrated by case examples. We also shared insights into regulatory policy development and decision-making. Various modeling and simulation approaches were presented across a range of applications. Furthermore, the challenges and opportunities of MIDD in China were discussed and compared with other regions where these practices have a more established history. Through this analysis, we highlighted the potential of MIDD to enhance drug development efficiency and effectiveness in China's evolving pharmaceutical landscape.

Anti-seizure medications and deep brain stimulation are widely used therapies to treat seizures; however, both face limitations such as resistance and the unpredictable nature of seizures. Recent advancements, including responsive neural stimulation and on-demand drug release, have been developed to address these challenges. However, a gap remains, as electrical stimulation provides only transient effects while medication has a delayed onset.

Named after the Greek term for "hard fat", stearic acid has gradually entered people's field of vision. As an important component of various physiological cellular functions, stearic acid plays a regulatory role in diverse aspects of energy metabolism and signal transduction. Its applications range from serving as a bodily energy source to participating in endogenous biosynthesis.

Executive functions (EF) affect child competencies across domains in early childhood. Thus, this study examined: 1) the EF differences between young children with global developmental delays (GDD) and those with typical development (TD); 2) the relationship between mastery motivation (MM) and EF; 3) the association between developmental abilities and EF in both groups. Participants included 26 mother-child dyads of preschoolers with GDD (age 24-55 months) and 26 sex- and mental-age-matched dyads of TD preschoolers (age 15-29 months).

Purpose: To explore if recentering the humeral head could improve shoulder abduction in shoulders with irreparable massive rotator cuff tears (IMRCTs).
Methods: Nine fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders were used to simulate the intact condition and IMRCTs as controls. Four 'recenter' interventions were then sequentially applied: subacromial interposition (SI) using 4- and 8-mm spacers and superior capsule reconstruction (SCR) using two- and four-layer fascia lata grafts.
