Background: This study aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of suture fixation of the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) by hysteroscope for the treatment of adenomyosis in patients at high risk of device expulsion, to provide a viable treatment option for these patients.

Methods: Twenty-one patients with large symptomatic adenomyosis were sewed and fixed with the LNG-IUD in the uterus by hysteroscopy to prevent the device expulsion.

Results: In this prospective case series, all 21 patients were successfully sewed and fixed with the LNG-IUD in the uterus by hysteroscopy. The amount of menstruation was significantly decreased and dysmenorrhea was significantly relieved in 3, 6, and 12 months after surgery compared with before surgery. Only one patient underwent a laparoscopic hysterectomy due to dysmenorrhea which was not alleviated one month later. Serious IUD complications including expulsion and perforation were not observed. There was no development of new side effects than LNG-IUD insertion.

Conclusion: Our findings indicate that suture fixation of the LNG-IUD by hysteroscope is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive surgical procedure to prevent the device expulsion. It is a good solution for the treatment of large symptomatic adenomyosis and has shown to be effective in managing symptoms related to adenomyosis.

Background: Rotator cuff repairs may fail because of compromised blood supply, suture anchor pullout, or poor fixation to bone. To augment the repairs and promote healing of the tears, orthobiologics, such a platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and biologic scaffolds have been applied with mixed results. Adipose allograft matrix (AAM), which recruits native cells to damaged tissues, may also be a potential treatment for rotator cuff tears.

Background: Considerable variability exists in the described clinical and radiographic indications for use, surgical techniques, postoperative management, and risk profile after trochleoplasty for the management of patellofemoral instability (PFI). In areas of clinical uncertainty, a cohesive summary of expert opinion and identification of areas of variation in current practice can be useful in guiding current practice and future research efforts.

Purpose: To assess the current indications for use, surgical techniques, postoperative rehabilitation practices, and observed complication profile for trochleoplasty in the management of PFI among surgeons who perform this procedure.

Purpose: To describe a surgical method for correcting lower lid entropion, lateral canthal entropion, and macroblepharon.

Methods: Lid margins were incised at a 45° angle, and lateral lid margins and a rhomboid shaped piece of skin were resected based on the degree of macroblepharon. Subcutaneous tissue was sutured with absorbable sutures and anchored to the orbital ligament with a non-absorbable suture to maintain lateral canthal position.

Introduction: Unicondylar knee replacement (UKR) is a surgical procedure frequently performed to treat medial compartment osteoarthritis, offering advantages such as quicker recovery and preservation of knee kinematics. However, complications can arise, including periprosthetic fractures. Patella fractures in the context of UKR are particularly challenging due to the presence of the implant.
