Protein glycosylation acts as a crucial role in regulating protein function and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Efficient peptide enrichment can be utilized to effectively solve the inherent challenges of protein glycosylation analysis to search unknown cancer biomarkers. In this research, a low dimensional porous hydrophilic nanosheets with a multi-level porous structure (Co-MOF-SiO@HA) was synthetized via an easy one-pot method for the efficient enrichment of the N-glycopeptides in the digests of complex biosamples. The synthetized nanosheets Co-MOF-SiO@HA demonstrated excellent enriching performances including a high enrichment capacity (300 mg g calculated), a spectacular selectivity (IgG digests and BSA digests at the molar ratio of 1/1200), and an excellent spatial confinement ability (IgG digests, IgG and BSA at the molar ratio of 1/1000/1000). As an explore result, after the enrichment of human colorectal cancer tissue and human healthy tissue by the nanosheets, several proteins related to cancers and one protein directly related to well-known human colorectal cancer were identified by detecting the corresponding glycopeptides. It presented the potential value of the feasibility of this analysis mode by nanosheets Co-MOF-SiO@HA in proteomic analysis.

This study aimed to identify shared gene expression related to circadian rhythm disruption in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to discover common diagnostic biomarkers. Visceral fat RNA samples were collected from 12 PCOS and 14 non-PCOS patients, a sample size representing the clinical situation and sufficient to capture PCOS gene expression profiles. Along with liver transcriptome profiles from NAFLD patients, these data were analyzed to identify crosstalk circadian rhythm-related genes (CRRGs) between the diseases.

Dispersal is an important life history trait that plays a key role in the demography and evolution of species. We employed a combined approach of DNA sequencing and transmission electron microscopy to examine the changes in the microbiome during the ontogeny and dispersal of the coral-excavating sponge Thoosa mismalolli. The results show that sponge can acquired their associated bacteria via both vertical (VT) and horizontal transmission (HT).

The -doped biochar is recognized as a promising, cost-effective, and efficient material for CO adsorption. However, achieving efficient enrichment of -containing adsorption sites and improving their accessibility remains a bottleneck problem that restricts the adsorption performance of -doped biochar. Herein, a synthesis strategy for nitrogen-doped biochar by one-pot ionothermal treatment of biomass and zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) precursors accompanied by pyrolysis is demonstrated.

Direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET) enhances anaerobic digestion by facilitating electron exchange between electroactive bacteria and methanogenic archaea. While Geobacter species are recognized for donating electrons to methanogens via DIET, they are rarely detected in mixed microbial communities. This study examined various non-electrode biological carriers (zeolite, carbon cloth, activated carbon and biochar) to promote Geobacter cultivation under anaerobic conditions and identify pivotal factors influencing their symbiosis with methanogens.
