Article Abstract

has high medicinal and ornamental value. In this study, we characterize and report, for the first time, the complete chloroplast genome sequence of based on high-throughput sequence dates. The whole chloroplast genome of is a circular molecule of 159,648 bp in length, consisting of a large single-copy (LSC) region of 79,394 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,112 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR) regions of 31,071 bp. The overall GC content of the chloroplast genome is 38%, while that in the LSC, SSC, and IR regions is 36.3%, 31.3%, and 42.1%, respectively. The chloroplast genome of contains 133 genes, including 89 coding genes, 8 ribosomal RNAs, and 36 transfer RNAs. Among them, 14 protein-coding genes have a single intron, and 2 genes have two introns. The phylogenetic analysis showed a close relationship between and .

Characterization of fatty acid desaturase gene family in and their expression patterns in seeds after infection.

College of Agronomy and Sichuan Engineering Research Center for Crop Strip Intercropping System, Sichuan Agricultural University, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Background: The family of membrane-bound fatty acid desaturase () genes play a vital role in plant growth, development, and stress responses. The seed-borne pathogen causes seed decay disease during pre-harvest and post-harvest stages of soybean, leading to a significant reduction in yield and quality. Therefore, it is very meaningful to characterize the diversity and function of the gene family in soybean and to elucidate their roles in seed resistance to

Results: In this study, 30 full-length genes were identified from the soybean genome.

Phylogenetic analysis of Asiatic species in the tropical genus Beilschmiedia (Lauraceae).

BMC Genomics

Engineering Technology Research Center of National Forestry and Grassland Administration on Southwest Landscape Architecture, Southwest Forestry University, Kunming, Yunnan, 650224, China.

The tropial genus Beilschmiedia, comprising over 250 species worldwide, includes approximately 40 species distributed in the northern tropical forests of Asia. However, the phylogenetic relationships among these Asiatic Beilschmiedia species remain incompletely understood. In this study, we sequenced and assembled complete chloroplast genomes from six Asiatic Beilschmiedia species, including five from China and one from Indonesia.

Domains rearranged methyltransferases (DRMs)-mediated DNA methylation plays key roles in modulating gene expression and maintaining transposable element silencing in soybean.

The domains rearranged methyltransferases (DRMs) play a critical role in the RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM) pathway in plants. However, the effects of inactivating the RdDM pathway on gene expression, transposable element (TE) activity, and phenotype in soybean remain unexplored. Here, we employed clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 gene editing to generate a quintuple mutant line in soybean (Gmdrm2a2b2c3a3b, designated Gmdrm).

Genome skimming (GS), also referred to as low-coverage shotgun sequencing, is an efficient and cost-effective sequencing method that targets high-copy regions in genomes. It is most commonly used for species identification, phylogenetic analysis and expansion of reference libraries. GS can be applied to single species or composite DNA samples representing multiple species; the latter is termed metagenome skimming (MGS).
