The rate coefficients for the ternary association reaction of vibrationally cold N ions with N and He were measured in an afterglow plasma in the temperature range of 140-250 K: = (1.02 ± 0.39)(300/) × 10 cm s. The rotational and vibrational state populations of N ions were probed in situ by time-resolved cavity ring-down spectroscopy. The rate coefficient for Penning ionization of N by helium metastable atoms was also determined: = [(2.70 ± 0.17) + (84.3 ± 5.9)e] × 10 cm s.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia worldwide. AD brains are characterized by the accumulation of amyloid-β peptides (Aβ) that bind Cu and have been associated with several neurotoxic mechanisms. Although the use of copper chelators to prevent the formation of Cu-Aβ complexes has been proposed as a therapeutic strategy, recent studies show that copper is an important neuromodulator that is essential for a neuroprotective mechanism mediated by Cu binding to the cellular prion protein (PrP).

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) presents with resistance phenotypes to certain therapies, such as cisplatin, often requiring higher dosing, with associated acquired tumor resistance, renal toxicity, and variable patient responses. A self-emulsifying drug delivery (SEDD) formulation approach was proposed to overcome the limitations of cisplatin in TNBC, focusing on improving intracellular cisplatin and control siRNA uptake as a proof-of-principle of dual drug delivery. Four SEDD formulations were prepared and optimized for cisplatin (o/w) emulsion and FITC-siRNA (w/o) emulsion using pseudo-ternary phase diagrams to facilitate the formation of water-in-oil-water (w/o/w) emulsions.

This work looks into how well Cu-doped zinc oxide works as a photocatalyst when exposed to visible light to break down sulphanilamide. The synthesized samples were characterized by XRD and then FTIR techniques for structural besides compositional analysis. The approximate value of bandgap found out by NBE values of PL spectra showed a decrease in bandgap with doping.

In order to realize high-performance bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) all-polymer solar cells, achieving appropriate aggregation and moderate miscibility of the polymer blends is one critical factor. Herein, this study designs and synthesizes two new polymer acceptors (Ps), namely PYF and PYF-Cl, containing benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b'] difuran (BDF) moiety with/without chlorine atoms on the thiophene side groups. Thanks to the preferred planar structure and high electronegativity of the BDF units, the resultant Ps generate strong intermolecular interactions and π-π stacking in both the neat and blend films.

Our recent study demonstrated that fulvic and humic acids are the major contributors to the adsorption of phenoxyalkanoic acid herbicides in soils. At very low pH, the neutral forms of these herbicides are bound directly to fulvic and humic acids, whereas at higher pH, their anionic forms are adsorbed mainly via bridges created by Al species. The number of active sorption sites associated with Al species complexed with fulvic acids is pH-dependent, whereas the number of corresponding sites in humic acids is pH-independent.
