This study aimed to evaluate and compare the antioxidant capacity and enzyme inhibitory activity of extracts, sub-extracts, and fractions prepared from the aerial parts and roots of A. pseudocartalinica. The phytochemical content of the active extracts was also analyzed. According to the results, ellagic acid (38.42 mg/g) was the major compound in the aerial part methanol extract and catechin (185.30 mg/g) in the root methanol extract. The DPPH inhibition activity of all fractions was monitored, with the most active one (Fr B) reaching an IC value of (4.92±0.59 μg/mL). All the fractions prepared from the aerial parts' water sub-extract showed higher a-glucosidase inhibitory activity than the positive control acarbose. In the tyrosinase assay, Fr B (58.81±7.50 μg/mL) exhibited the highest inhibitory actions among all fractions. The structure of the major substances of the most active fraction were elucidated as quercetin 7-O-β-glucopyranosyl-3-O-β-glucuronopyranoside- (1), and α-[(2-formyl-5-hydroxymethyl)pyrrol-1-yl]aspartic acid (2).

L-type amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1, SLC7A5), overexpressed in various cancers, mediates the uptake of essential amino acids crucial for tumor growth. It has emerged as a promising target for cancer therapy. Nanvuranlat (JPH203/KYT-0353), a LAT1 inhibitor, has shown antitumor activity in preclinical studies and efficacy in biliary tract cancer during clinical trials.

We recently characterized the potent antiplasmodial activity of the aggregated protein dye YAT2150, whose presumed mode of action is the inhibition of protein aggregation in the malaria parasite. Using single-dose and ramping methods, assays were done to select Plasmodium falciparum parasites resistant to YAT2150 concentrations ranging from 3× to 0.25× the in vitro IC of the compound (in the two-digit nM range) and performed a cross-resistance assessment in P.

CD8T cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) are often functionally impaired, which limits their ability to mount effective anti-tumor responses. However, the molecular mechanisms behind this dysfunction remain incompletely understood. Here, we identified valosin-containing protein (VCP) as a key regulator of CD8T cells suppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

To investigate the effect of the sizes of osteon-like concentric microgroove structures on the osteoclastic differentiation of macrophages on titanium surfaces, and to provide reference for the surface modification of implants. The silicon wafers sputtered with titanium were selected as the control group (smooth surface specimens) and four concentric groups (concentric circles with the maximum diameter of 200 μ m, the minimum diameter of 20 μ m, the spacing of concentric circles of 10 or 30 μm, the width of microgrooves of 10 or 30 μm, and the depth of microgrooves of 5 or 10 μm) specimens (the total sample size in each group was 27). The width of microgrooves of C10-5 and C10-10 groups was 10 μm, the depth was 5 and 10 μm, and the width of microgrooves of C30-5 and C30-10 groups was 30 μ m, the depth was 5 and 10 μ m, respectively.

Contact hypersensitivity (CHS) and atopic dermatitis (AD) are pervasive inflammatory skin diseases with similar symptoms, and the global prevalence of both conditions is steadily rising. Many compounds and biotics have been developed to target molecules critical to the etiology or pathogenesis of CHS and AD. However, such molecules are sometimes ineffective or lose potency over the therapeutic course.
