The aim of this work was to assess the microbiological safety and quality of horsemeat. A total of 19 fresh horsemeat samples were analysed. Mesophile counts were 4.89 ± 1.08 log CFU/g, and , spp., and enterococci were only isolated from 36.84%, 21.05%, and 15.79% of the samples, respectively. Neither nor were found in any sample. spp. and were detected in 31.58% and 21.05% of the samples, respectively. was not detected in any sample. The dominant bacteria were lactic acid bacteria. Seven different spp. were identified, the most common being , , and . showed resistance against mupirocin and cefoxitin. All the strains showed resistance against ampicillin, cefotaxime, and oxacillin. Multi-resistant , , and strains were found, with resistance to 11, 7, and 8 antibiotics, respectively, causing significant concern. Therefore, specific actions should be taken to decrease the contamination of horsemeat.

The emergence of bacterial resistance and the increasing restrictions on the use of agrochemicals are boosting the search for novel, sustainable antibiotics. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) arise as a new generation of antibiotics due to their effectiveness at low doses and biocompatibility. We compared the antimicrobial activity of four promising AMPs (CA-M, BP100, RW-BP100, and 3.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) are extensively documented within antibiotic pharmaceutical factories. Notably, non-antibiotic pharmaceuticals also represent a significant portion of the pharmaceuticals market. However, the comparative analyses of soil-borne ARG profiles and associated risks in different categories of pharmaceutical factories remain limited.

Silver nanowire (Ag NW)-based elastic conductors have been considered a promising candidate for key stretchable electrodes in wearable devices. However, the weak interface interaction of Ag NWs and elastic substrates leads to poor durability of electronic devices. For everyday usage, an additional self-healing ability is required to resist scratching and damage.

Background: Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease caused by () However, the emergence of drug-resistant strains of this bacterium, especially multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains, is a serious concern. This study aimed to evaluate the global prevalence of MDR and its implications.
Methods: Using PRISMA guidelines, we systematically reviewed ISI Web of Science, MEDLINE, and EMBASE up to August 2023 to assess the prevalence of MDR .

Background: Previous microbiological investigations have demonstrated a significant correlation between complex (CKC) infection and mastitis. Recent studies have confirmed the existence of the CKC, with () identified as the primary infectious agent. Examining the incidence of CKC in cases of severe non-lactational mastitis, alongside the clinical characteristics of infected patients, as well as evaluating the drug sensitivity testing protocols for CKC, can provide a more robust foundation for the diagnosis and treatment of CKC infections.
