Superovulation is a crucial step in assisted reproductive technology that involves the administration of gonadotrophins. Repeated superovulations result in severe ovarian damage. The present study investigated the effect of in vivo administration of lycopene on ovarian damage induced by four successive cycles of superovulation. Superovulated mice were simultaneously administered intraperitoneally with saline (R4) or 5 mg/kg lycopene (R4-Lyc). The evaluated parameters were the count of different types of follicles, expression of ovarian antioxidant- and apoptosis-related genes, and serum concentrations of estradiol, progesterone, and inhibin-B. Increased numbers of healthy follicles and a decreased count of atretic follicles were observed in mice of the R4-Lyc group compared to those of the R4 group. Moreover, significantly higher mRNA levels of , , and and lower mRNA levels of , , , and , together with decreased HO concentrations and increased total antioxidant capacity, were detected in the ovaries of lycopene-treated mice. Regarding serum reproductive hormones, elevated concentrations of estradiol, progesterone, and inhibin-B were evident in lycopene-administered mice. The present study reports a significant role of lycopene in alleviating the ovarian damage induced by multiple hormonal superstimulations, which could help to improve the outcomes of in vitro embryo production.

As one of the essential lignan derivative found in traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG) was proved to promote women's health through its phytoestrogenic properties. Increasingly studies indicated that this compound could be a potential drug capable of preventing estrogen-related diseases. Here, we aimed to investigate whether SDG can counteract cyclophosphamide (CTX) induced premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and further explore its specific molecular mechanism.

Pesticides tend to cause serious reproductive defects, disturbing endocrine functions and reducing fertility, especially in females. The objective of this work was to identify the reprotoxic effects of Ampligo® 150 ZC (AP), a mixture formulation of lambda cyhalothrin and chlorantraniliprole, on the ovary of female rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and the possible protective effect of co-treatment with thyme essential oil (TEO), extracted from (Thymus vulgaris) species, and vitamin C (vit C). Twenty female rabbits were divided into four equal groups (n=5): Control (distilled water), AP (20mg/ kg bw of the insecticide mixture every other day, by gavage for 28 days), AP+TEO (20mg/ kg bw of AP + 0.

Herbicide paraquat dichloride, a potent redox agent found its way to natural water bodies and influences their health; however, its impact on the reproductive health of fish is potentially less studied and requires clear investigation. This study was conducted to elucidate its effect on the gonadal health of female fish, Channa punctatus over 60 days. The 96-h LC of test herbicide was calculated as 0.

Importance: The goal of surgical deescalation is to minimize tissue damage, enhance patient outcomes, and reduce the adverse effects often associated with extensive or traditional surgical procedures. This shift toward less invasive techniques has the potential to revolutionize surgical practices, profoundly impacting the methods and training of future surgeons.
Objective: To evaluate adoption of surgical deescalation within the field of gynecologic oncology using The National Cancer Database.

It is crucial to develop new tactics to prevent ovarian tissue damage in women whose reproductive toxicity is caused by chemotherapy. The present investigation was performed to assess the protective effects of Moringa oleifera (M. oleifera) leaf extract on cyclophosphamide (CP)-induced ovarian damage and reproductive dysfunction.
