In recent years, the development of Forest Carbon Sink Project (FCSP) has become a key focus within forestry sector. Despite this, decision-makers often lack reliable tools to assess forest owners' willingness to engage in this project. This study aims to develop, validate and evaluate a rational value perception scale as the tool to understand the willingness of forest manager.

Covalent Affibody-Molecular Glue Drug Conjugate Nanoagent for Proximity-Enabled Reactive Therapeutics.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Frontiers Science Center for Transformative Molecules, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, 200240, China.

Sulfur-fluoride exchange (SuFEx) reaction is an emerging class of click chemistry reaction. Owing to its efficient reactivity under physiological conditions, SuFEx reaction is used to construct covalent protein drugs. Herein, a covalent affibody-molecular glue drug conjugate nanoagent is reported, which can irreversibly bind with its target protein through proximity-enabled SuFEx reaction.

Addressing the issues of inadequate information exchange among subsequences in the operational time series of water injection pumps, leading to low accuracy and high false alarm rates in anomaly detection, this paper proposes a multidimensional time series anomaly detection method for water injection pump operations, leveraging Long Short-Term Memory Autoencoder augmented with Attention Mechanism (LSTMA-AE) and mechanistic constraints. The LSTMA-AE framework encompasses three primary modules: a Time Feature Extraction Module (Encoder), an Attention Layer, and a Data Reconstruction Module (Decoder). The Encoder captures temporal dependencies and features within the input sequences, mapping the input data into a higher-dimensional space.

Arctic soil carbon insulation averts large spring cooling from surface-atmosphere feedbacks.

Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A

January 2025

Laboratoire de Géologie, Ecole Normale Supérieure, CNRS, Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace, Université Paris Sciences et Lettres, Paris 75005, France.

The insulative properties of soil organic carbon (SOC) and surface organic layers (moss, lichens, litter) regulate surface-atmosphere energy exchanges in the Arctic through a coupling with soil temperatures. However, a physical description of this process is lacking in many climate models, potentially biasing their high-latitude climate predictions. Using a coupled surface-atmosphere model, we identified a strong feedback loop between soil insulation, surface air temperature, and snowfall.

Allosteric regulation of ADAMTS13 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with ThromboSpondin type-1 motif, member 13) activity involves an interaction between its Spacer (S) and CUB1-2 domains to keep the enzyme in a closed, latent conformation. Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) uncouple the S-CUB interaction to open the ADAMTS13 conformation and thereby disrupt the global enzyme latency. The molecular mechanism behind this mAb-induced allostery remains poorly understood.
