Background: The staff of maternity hospitals play an essential role in the start of breastfeeding. This study assessed specific aspects of breastfeeding promotion in German hospitals using the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Pregnancy-induced changes in the intestinal microbiota have been widely demonstrated. However, the research on the alterations of intestinal fungi and fecal metabolism during the reproductive cycle of sows is limited. Introduction: Women represent over 50% of graduating medical students in the United States and approximately 20% of current neurosurgical residents in training. An increase in female representation requires an increase in advocacy efforts related to pregnancy. Although there is extensive literature on pregnancy in neurosurgical residents, the postpartum period, sometimes referred to as the "fourth trimester", is frequently overlooked.
