Background: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has become a popular exercise approach due to its potential to elicit significant physiological adaptations. However, limited research has compared the effects of different HIIT modalities on fitness parameters in middle-aged males. This study aimed to determine the effect of different HIIT on V̇O
Methods: Thirty sedentary males aged 40-50 years were randomly assigned to HIIT-Weight Training Circuit (WTC), HIIT-Shuttle Run (SR), or HIIT-Bodyweight Exercise (BWE) groups. Training consisted of 20 sessions over 5 weeks of 4×4 minutes at 90-95% HR
Results: The result for the Two-Way Mixed ANOVA indicated there was no significant interaction effect between the three training groups. There was no significant main effect for the three training groups, whereas there was a significant effect for the repeated measure time existed. A significant improvement in V̇O
Conclusions: This research findings suggested that different forms of HIIT can elicit differential adaptation in middle-aged males. Incorporating different form of HIIT as HITT-SR, HITT-WTC, and HITT-BWE into exercise program may be an effective way to systematically improve V̇O

Tin(IV) sulfate dihydrate, Sn(SO)·2HO, was prepared in a reflux of sulfuric acid under oxidizing conditions. Its crystal structure was determined from powder synchrotron X-ray diffraction data and is constructed of (100) layers of [SnO(HO)] octa-hedra (point group symmetry 1) corner-connected by sulfate tetra-hedra. Hydrogen bonds of moderate strength between the water mol-ecules and sulfate O atoms hold the layers together.

Introduction: While the fact that visual stimuli synthesized by Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) may evoke emotional reactions is documented, the precise mechanisms that connect the strength and type of such reactions with the ways of how ANNs are used to synthesize visual stimuli are yet to be discovered. Understanding these mechanisms allows for designing methods that synthesize images attenuating or enhancing selected emotional states, which may provide unobtrusive and widely-applicable treatment of mental dysfunctions and disorders.
Methods: The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), a type of ANN used in computer vision tasks which models the ways humans solve visual tasks, was applied to synthesize ("dream" or "hallucinate") images with no semantic content to maximize activations of neurons in precisely-selected layers in the CNN.

High quality research is critical for evidence-based decision making in public health and fundamental to maintain progress and trust in immunization programs in Europe. In 2024 the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) conducted an update of the 2020 systematic review to capture more recent evidence on of the efficacy, effectiveness of influenza vaccines in individuals aged 18 years and older in the prevention of laboratory-confirmed influenza. While this report was highly anticipated due to the strength of the protocol and processes put in place, during our assessment, we expressed two chief concerns.

Guidelines in statistical modeling for genomics hold that simpler models have advantages over more complex ones. Potential advantages include cost, interpretability, and improved generalization across datasets or biological contexts. We directly tested the assumption that small gene signatures generalize better by examining the generalization of mutation status prediction models across datasets (from cell lines to human tumors and vice versa) and biological contexts (holding out entire cancer types from pan-cancer data).

Objective: The purpose of this case study was to report the management of a patient with posterior tibialis tendon injury concurrent with gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT).
Clinical Features: A 31-year-old transgender male presented to a chiropractic clinic with spontaneous, right medial foot pain following running that day. Medical history revealed bilateral congenital pes planus and intramuscular administration of testosterone for 8 years.
