Background: Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD), also known as sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy, is a rare non-malignant disorder characterized by excessive proliferation of histiocytes, the cause of which remains unknown. Although the lymph nodes are the most commonly affected site, some patients may present with extranodal involvement, particularly in the skin, nasal cavity, eyes, and bones. In this report, we aim to present a unique case of RDD with pleural involvement in a 61-year-old patient.

Prognostic value of interim [F]FDG PET/CT after immunotherapy-based combinations in extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type.

Eur Radiol

January 2025

Department of Radiation Oncology, State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Guangdong Provincial Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, 510060, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: To evaluate the prognostic value of interim [F]Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography ([F]FDG PET/CT) after immunotherapy-based systemic therapies in extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL).

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively recruited 133 newly diagnosed nasal-type ENKTL patients who underwent interim [F]FDG PET/CT scans after 2-4 cycles of immunotherapy-based treatments. Interim PET/CT was interpreted by maximum standardized uptake value (SUV), Deauville 5-point scale (DS), and early treatment response.

A Rare Case of Severe Facial Disfiguration Due to Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma.

J Asthma Allergy

January 2025

Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, The Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, People's Republic of China.

Background: Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTCL-NT) is a rare, highly invasive Epstein-Barr virus associated hematological malignant tumor with an unfavorable prognosis. Although ENKTCL-NT has been previously reported, no relevant article has provided an intuitive, progressive series of schematic illustrations of the rapid progression of facial ulcers.

Objective: This article reports a serious case of ENKTCL-NT that involved the entire process from onset to death.

Disseminated Extranodal Natural Killer/T-Cell Lymphoma Mimicking a Paraneoplastic Polymyositis.

Clin Nucl Med

November 2024

From the Department of Diagnostic, Molecular, and Interventional Radiology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai West, New York, NY.

Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTCL) is an aggressive EBV-associated non-Hodgkin lymphoma, most commonly arising from within the mucosa of the upper aerodigestive tract, typically with nasal presentation. Here, we present an interesting case of a 36-year-old man with ENKTCL with an atypical pattern of disease progression despite 3 cycles of SMILE chemotherapy. Restaging 18F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated widespread uptake within the skeletal musculature in a distribution concerning for a paraneoplastic polymyositis.
