Objective: To know the perception of nurses about the management and exposure of methotrexate in primary care nursing staff of the Orihuela Health Department.

Material And Method: This is a descriptive qualitative study carried out through semi-structured interviews with a sample of 15 intentionally selected nurses.

Results: The participants expressed concern about the handling and exposure of methotrexate, which allowed them to perceive training as the greatest concern in the study unit. A main category called "knowing" was established, which encompasses all the reflections about the nurse's performance during the process of handling and exposure of cytostatics. From this main category, the following subcategories are developed: lack of knowledge, demand for training, personal protective equipment, cytostatic residues, exposure and ventilation.

Conclusion: Our study shows that it is necessary to accredit and reaccredit the professional skills of nurses to carry out the management of methotrexate correctly, facilitating the use of instruments to standardize variability and seeking strategies to update knowledge and skills.

Introduction: Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in inflammatory rheumatic diseases (RMDs) is gaining interest. However, there are unresolved questions about the best practices for implementing TDM effectively in clinical settings.

Objective: The primary objective of this study was to evaluate whether early TDM of adalimumab predicts drug survival at 52 weeks in patients with RMDs.

Background: 7-Hydroxymethotrexate (7-OHMTX) is the main metabolite in plasma following high-dose MTX (HD-MTX), which may result in activity and toxicity of the MTX. Moreover, 7-OHMTX could produce crystalline-like deposits within the renal tubules under acidic conditions or induce renal inflammation, oxidative stress, and cell apoptosis through various signaling pathways, ultimately leading to kidney damage. The objectives of this study were thus to explore the exposure-safety relationship of two compounds and search the most reliable marker for predicting HDMTX nephrotoxicity.

Objective: To determine if higher serum exposure during subcutaneous (SC) abatacept treatment was associated with an increased infection risk in adult patients with early rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: Data from AVERT-2 (Assessing Very Early Rheumatoid arthritis Treatment-2, NCT02504268), a randomized, placebo-controlled study in anticitrullinated protein antibody- positive patients with early RA, were analyzed. A post hoc population pharmacokinetic (PPK) analysis was performed.

Background: The current standard of care for infantile-onset Pompe disease (IOPD), a severe form of acid α-glucosidase enzyme activity deficiency is: (1) detection by newborn screening, (2) early initiation of intravenous enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) using recombinant human acid alpha-glucosidase (rhGAA), with higher doses of rhGAA increasingly used to improve clinical outcomes, and (3) immune tolerization induction (ITI) using to prevent anti-rhGAA antibody formation, with methotrexate (MTX), rituximab, and IVIG used for patients who are cross-reactive immunologic material negative (CRIM-) and monotherapy with MTX used in patients who are cross-reactive immunologic material positive (CRIM+).

Objectives/methods: A pilot study evaluates a dose-intensive therapy (DIT) using high-dose ERT (40 mg/kg/week) and more frequent exposure to ERT (i.e.

Background: Methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) regulates numerous biological processes and diverse cancers.

Objective: To explore the frequency distribution of METTL3 rs1061026, rs1139130, and rs1263801 polymorphisms, and their potential impacts on clinical outcomes and chemotherapy-induced toxicities in a cohort of Chinese pediatric patients diagnosed with primary brain tumors (PBTs).

Methods: Genotyping for three investigated SNPs was performed in 107 pediatric patients with PBTs using the Sequenom MassARRAY iPLEX platform.
