We investigate the elastic behavior of two-dimensional crystalline membrane embedded into real space taking into account the presence an arbitrary number of flexural phonon modes d_{c} (the number of out-of-plane deformation field components). The bending rigidity exponent η is extracted by numerical simulation via Fourier Monte Carlo technique of the system behavior in the universal regime. This universal quantity governs the correlation function of out-of-plane deformations at long wavelengths and defines the behavior of renormalized bending rigidity at small momentum ϰ∼1/q^{η}. The resulting numerical estimates of the exponent for various d_{c} are compared with the numbers obtained from the approximate analytical techniques.

Based on the 5615 working face of Beisu Coal Mine, a virtual prototype of the shearer cable drag system was developed using the MG2×70/325-BWD electric traction shearer as the carrier, in combination with CERO and ADAMS software. The shearer cable was equivalently modeled using the discrete rigid body method to study the dynamic characteristics of the drag system. This research provides a foundation for the design and optimization of both the cable and cable clamps.

Recent advances have uncovered an exotic sliding ferroelectric mechanism, which endows to design atomically thin ferroelectrics from non-ferroelectric parent monolayers. Although notable progress has been witnessed in understanding the fundamental properties, functional devices based on sliding ferroelectrics remain elusive. Here, we demonstrate the rewritable, non-volatile memories at room-temperature with a two-dimensional (2D) sliding ferroelectric semiconductor of rhombohedral-stacked bilayer MoS.

In addition to the usual loads, fixed jacket offshore platforms can be exposed to accidental loads from ship collisions. Indentation of tubular components is a significant defect that occurs when a supply vessel collides with a jacket platform, which can affect the ultimate strength of the offshore platform. This paper performs a nonlinear dynamic analysis using ABAQUS software to evaluate the ultimate strength of a wellhead jacket platform and to investigate its structural response to two consecutive impacts from a 2700-ton ship.

Modern industrial and medical applications require soft actuators with practical actuation methods, capable of precision control and high-speed performance. Within the realm of medical robotics, precision and speed imply less complications and reduced operational times. Soft fluidic actuators (SFAs) are promising candidates to replace the current rigid endoscopes due to their mechanical compliance, which offers safer human-robot interaction.
