JMIR Form Res

December 2024

REACH Lab, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, United States.

Background: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are the most used form of tobacco products among adolescents and young adults, and Vuse is one of the most popular brands of e-cigarettes among US adolescents. In October 2021, Vuse Solo became the first e-cigarette brand to receive marketing granted orders (MGOs) from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), authorizing its marketing and their tobacco-flavored pods. Achieving mainstream nitrogen removal by partial nitrification and anammox in the carriers-coupled membrane aerated biofilm reactor.

Water Res

March 2025

State Key Joint Laboratory of Environment Simulation and Pollution Control, School of Environment, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China; Research and Application Centre for Membrane Technology, School of Environment, Tsinghua University, Beijing, 100084, China. Electronic address:

The integration of partial nitrification-anammox (PN/A) into membrane-aerated biofilm reactor (MABR) is a promisingly energy-efficient and high-efficiency technology for nitrogen removal. The inhibition of nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB) remains as the most significant challenge for its development. In our investigation, we proposed a novel process to integrate carriers to MABR (CMABR), which combined the carriers enriched with anaerobic ammonium-oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB) and partial nitrifying MABR system.

Molecular Characteristics of Circ_002156 and Its Effects on Proliferation and Differentiation of Caprine Skeletal Muscle Satellite Cells.

Int J Mol Sci

November 2024

Gansu Key Laboratory of Herbivorous Animal Biotechnology, Faculty of Animal Science and Technology, Gansu Agricultural University, Lanzhou 730070, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the circular RNA circ_002156 in caprine skeletal muscle satellite cells (SMSCs), exploring its structure, authenticity, location, and expression in various tissues.
  • Circ_002156 is primarily found in the nuclei of SMSCs and shows higher expression levels in muscle tissues, peaking during the differentiation stages of these cells.
  • Inhibition of circ_002156 via small interfering RNA (si-circ_002156) increases SMC viability and proliferation, suggesting that circ_002156 plays a role in regulating SMC growth and differentiation.

Introduction: Autism is a lifelong minority neurotype present from birth. There is a dearth of credible evidence to suggest gender variation in Autism prevalence, despite historical under-diagnosis of women. Autistic people Assigned Female At Birth (AFAB) have worse physical and mental health compared with non-Autistic peers.
