Anemia is a worldwide public health problem and is associated with platelet disorders. The relationship between anemia and platelets is complex, with the association being either normal platelet count or thrombocytosis. Platelets are significantly decreased in patients with anemia, and thrombocytopenia has been documented in patients with severe anemia.

Background: Chronic nonhealing neuropathic foot ulcers affect approximately 15% to 30% of patients with diabetes mellitus and are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Although current strategies to address these chronic wounds include a multifactorial approach, clinical outcomes remain poor and warrant improvement. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), derived from autologous or allogeneic blood, is an emerging regenerative product that aims to serve as an adjuvant to standard diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) treatment.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the correlations between complete blood count (CBC) during radiotherapy and patient and treatment factors.
Patients And Methods: Data of cancer patients, including age, sex, concurrent chemotherapy (CCRT), radiotherapy dose (equivalent dose in 2‑Gy fractions with an alpha/beta value of 10 Gy, EQD2Gy10), radiotherapy location, and baseline CBC were collected. Linear regression was used to determine results during radiation.

Percutaneous valve implantation or surgical replacement with mechanical or biological valves are standard therapies for severe valvular heart diseases. Prosthetic valve thrombosis, though rare, is a serious complication, particularly with mechanical prostheses. This study aimed to investigate the predictive value of platelet volume parameters, including mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), and platelet-large cell ratio (P-LCR), for valvular thrombosis risk in patients undergoing valve replacement therapy.
