Background: Antithrombotic therapy (AT) after left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) has the purpose of preventing device related thrombosis (DRT), avoiding embolic events; nevertheless, the correct antithrombotic regimen after LAAO is still under debate.
Aims: Aim of this substudy of the observational LOGIC registry was to describe the efficacy and safety of a light antithrombotic regimen, comprising single antiplatelet therapy or none, compared to a standard antithrombotic regimen, after a successful LAAO.
Methods: Patients with NVAF that underwent LAAO were previously included in the LOGIC registry.
Introduction: There has been limited research on predicting the functional prognosis of patients with non-surgical intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) from the acute stage. The aim of this study is to develop a risk prediction model for the natural course in patients with non-surgical ICH and to evaluate its performance using a multicenter hospital-based prospective study of stroke patients in Japan.
Methods: We consecutively registered a total of 1,017 patients with acute ICH (mean age, 68 years) who underwent conservative treatment and followed them up for 3 months.

Objectives: Edge-to-edge mitral valve repair with MitraClip leads to a differed flow pattern and a decreased flow velocity at the left ventricle apex. This combination may lead to initiation of thrombus formation, especially in patients with severely reduced ejection fraction. The prevalence and mechanism of left ventricular thrombus formation after MitraClip implantation is still unknown.

Haemotoxicity is the most common complication of systemic envenoming following snakebite, leading to diverse clinical syndromes ranging from haemorrhagic to prothrombotic manifestations. Key haematological abnormalities include platelet dysfunction, venom-induced consumption coagulopathy, anticoagulant coagulopathy and organ-threatening thrombotic microangiopathy. Diagnostic methods include the bedside whole blood clotting test, laboratory coagulation screening and other advanced methods such as thromboelastogram and clot strength analysis.
