This study investigated how the judgment of proximal joint position can be affected by touch alone, focused attention on the distal body part, or touch spatial localization. Participants completed a two-arm elbow joint position-matching task, in which they indicated the location of one forearm by the placement of the other. In four test conditions, matching was performed during (1) detection of touch (tactile stimulation of index finger pads), (2) spatial localization of fingers (attention focused on the position of index finger pads), (3) spatial localization of touch on fingers (attention focused on tactile stimulation of index finger pads), and (4) detection of touch but localization of fingers (tactile stimulation of index finger pads, but attention focusing on the spatial position of the pads).

Body ownership refers to the feeling that the body belongs to oneself. This study explores how our ability to predict our body's location in space influences feelings of ownership and disownership towards it, comparing two illusion techniques: the virtual Rubber Hand Illusion (vRHI) and the first-person perspective Full-Body Illusion (1pp-FBI). Participants were exposed to each illusion, where they observed a virtual body aligned or misaligned with their own.

Human object perception depends on the proper integration of multiple visual features, such as color and motion. When features are integrated incorrectly, they are perceptually misbound and can cause illusions. This study investigates the phenomenon of continuous misbinding of color and motion features in peripheral vision, addressing the role of spatial continuity and color configuration in binding processes.

We report a novel visual illusion that is present in the natural environment. In attempting to cut a banana in half, many people make the side adjacent to the stem shorter, because they see it as longer than it is. This study tested the presence of the banana bisection illusion with outline drawings and a 3D realistic-looking plastic banana.

In the Thermal Grill Illusion (TGI), the spatial alternation of non-noxious warm and cool temperatures elicits burning sensations that resemble the presence of noxious stimuli. Previous research has largely relied on the use of specific temperature values (i.e.
