DFF's diverse applications in pharmaceuticals, fungicides, and polymer synthesis motivate the development of efficient production methods. This study reports the continuous-flow synthesis of DFF from 5-HMF in a packed-bed reactor. The Box-Behnken design coupled with response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the reaction parameters (catalyst, solvent, temperature, oxygen flow rate, catalyst amount) for DFF yield. Ru/AlO in toluene proved to be the most effective catalyst-solvent combination. The optimal conditions for DFF production were identified as: 140 °C reaction temperature, 10 ml min oxygen flow rate, and 0.15 g catalyst loading. Under these conditions, a DFF yield of 84.2% was achieved.

Esophageal carcinoma is a highly prevalent malignancy worldwide. The present study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which the natural compound coptisine affects pyroptosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The expression of c-Met in ESCC patients was assessed by immunohistochemical analysis of tissue microarrays.

Neurovascular coupling (NVC) refers to the process of local changes in cerebral blood flow (CBF) after neuronal activity, which ensures the timely and adequate supply of oxygen, glucose, and substrates to the active regions of the brain. Recent clinical imaging and experimental technology advancements have deepened our understanding of the cellular mechanisms underlying NVC. Pathological conditions such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral small vascular disease, and vascular cognitive impairment can disrupt NVC even before clinical symptoms appear.

Background: Patients with obesity are at high-risk of extubation failure. Discrepancies were found in the results of recent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding the roles of noninvasive ventilation (NIV), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and conventional oxygen therapy (COT) to prevent extubation failure in critically ill patients with obesity.
Methods: In this systematic review and network meta-analysis, we searched MEDLINE, Cochrane Center Register of Controlled Trials and Web of Science from 1 January 1998 to 1 July 2024 for RCTs evaluating noninvasive respiratory support therapies (NIV, HFNC, COT, NIV + HFNC) after extubation in critically ill adults with obesity.

Background: It is documented that COVID-19 survivors have prolonged morbidity and functional impairment for many years. Data regarding post-COVID-19 lung functions is lacking from the Indian population. We aim to evaluate the lung functions in such patients after 3-6 months of hospital discharge.
