Cryopreservation of in vitro matured oocytes is still considered as an experimental alternative to mature oocyte vitrification after ovarian stimulation. Here, we investigated whether rescue-IVM should be performed before or after vitrification. For this, 101 immature oocytes (germinal vesicle stage) from women undergoing ICSI were used.

The microtubule cytoskeleton forms complex macromolecular assemblies with a range of microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) that have fundamental roles in cell architecture, division and motility. Determining how an individual MAP modulates microtubule behaviour is an important step in understanding the physiological roles of various microtubule assemblies. To characterize how MAPs control microtubule properties and functions, we developed an approach allowing for medium-throughput analyses of MAPs in cell-free conditions using lysates of mammalian cells.

Blood perfusion of grafted tissue constructs is a hindrance to the success of stem cell-based therapies by limiting cell survival and tissue regeneration. Implantation of a pre-vascularized network engineered in vitro has thus emerged as a promising strategy for promoting blood supply deep into the construct, relying on inosculation with the host vasculature. We aimed to fabricate in vitro tissue constructs with mature microvascular networks, displaying perivascular recruitment and basement membrane, taking advantage of the angiogenic properties of dental pulp stem cells and self-assembly of endothelial cells into capillaries.

Owing to its ability to form biofilms, Staphylococcus aureus is responsible for an increasing number of infections on implantable medical devices. The aim of this study was to develop a mouse model using microbeads coated with S. aureus biofilm to simulate such infections and to analyse the dynamics of anti-biofilm inflammatory responses by intravital imaging.
