Article Synopsis
  • Breast cancer can disrupt autobiographical memory (AM) which affects how survivors construct their personal narratives and identities.
  • Survivors often have trouble recalling specific self-defining memories (SDMs) that are emotionally significant, which hampers their ability to connect these memories to their sense of self and life experiences.
  • A study analyzing narratives from breast cancer survivors revealed three key themes—onset of cancer, identification of negative emotions, and bodily changes—indicating challenges in memory retrieval and meaning-making that could impact long-term psychological adjustment.

Article Synopsis
  • Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) is an autoimmune skin disease in dogs, marked by pustules and caused by IgG autoantibodies targeting desmocollin-1 (DSC1), which is crucial for skin cell adhesion.
  • Previous research indicated that passive transfer of these autoantibodies can induce skin disease, but the recruitment of neutrophils remained unexplained.
  • Our study aimed to clarify the role of IgA autoantibodies in PF, but after removing significant amounts of IgG from dog sera, we found no increase in IgA levels, suggesting that IgA does not play a pathogenic role in this condition.

Modern living and working environments are more and more interspersed with the concurrent execution of locomotion and sensory processing, most often in the visual domain. Many job profiles involve the presentation of visual information while walking, for example in warehouse logistics work, where a worker has to manage walking to the correct aisle to pick up a package while being presented with visual information over data-glasses concerning the next order. Similar use-cases can be found in manufacturing jobs, for example in car montage assembly lines where next steps are presented via augmented reality headsets while walking at a slow pace.
