We report on the CrFeTiO(CFTO) system using a combination of x-ray diffraction, dc magnetization, ac susceptibility, specific heat and neutron diffraction measurements. CFTO is seen to crystallize in a monoclinic2symmetry. It shows a glassy freezing at∼22 K, characterized by the observation of bifurcation between ZFC and FC(T) curves, frequency dispersion acrossin ac susceptibility, and follows Vogel-Fulcher and power law type critical dynamics, very slow relaxation of iso-thermal remanent magnetization with time and a linear temperature dependence of magnetic contribution to specific heatbelow. The microscopic neutron diffraction analysis of CFTO not only confirms the absence of long-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering but also exhibits diffuse scattering due to the presence of short-range ordered AFM correlated spin clusters.

Due to its thermal stability, and high viscosity, proso millet starch has limited practical applications. Extrusion can alter the functional properties of starch by pre-gelatinization, but the specific effects of extrusion temperature on starch behavior are not clear. In this study, proso millet starch was modified using extrusion at varying temperatures (70 °C, 90 °C, 110 °C), and its structure as well as physicochemical properties were evaluated.

Next-generation advanced high/pulsed power capacitors rely heavily on dielectric ceramics with high energy storage performance. Although high entropy relaxor ferroelectric exhibited enormous potential in functional materials, the chemical short-range order, which is a common phenomenon in high entropy alloys to modulate performances, have been paid less attention here. We design a chemical short-range order strategy to modulate polarization response under external electric field and achieve substantial enhancements of energy storage properties, i.

Carbon coating on SiO surface is crucial for enhancing initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and cycling performance in batteries, while also buffering volume expansion. Despite its market prevalence, the effects of the carbon layer's quality and structure on the electrochemical properties of SiO remain underexplored. This study compares carbon layers produced via gas-phase and solid-phase coating methods, introducing an innovative technique that sequentially uses two gases to develop a low-impedance hybrid carbon structure.

We present the theory and implementation of a fully variational wave function-density functional theory (DFT) hybrid model, which is applicable to many cases of strong correlation. We denote this model as the multiconfigurational self-consistent on-top pair-density functional theory (MC-srPDFT) model. We have previously shown how the multiconfigurational short-range DFT (MC-srDFT) hybrid model can describe many multiconfigurational cases of any spin symmetry and also state-specific calculations on excited states [Hedegård et al.
