In the last years, it has been proved that some viruses are able to re-structure chromatin organization and alter the epigenomic landscape of the host genome. In addition, they are able to affect the physical mechanisms shaping chromatin 3D structure, with a consequent impact on gene activity. Here, we investigate with polymer physics genome re-organization of the host genome upon SARS-CoV-2 viral infection and how it can impact structural variability within the population of single-cell chromatin configurations.

Background: The unavoidable propagation of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has underscored the urgent requirement for efficacious therapeutic agents. The dried fruit of Retz., namely Chebulae Fructus, is widely used for treating bacterial and viral infectious diseases, which was witnessed to perform anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity in recommended Chinese patent medicine.

Introduction And Objective: Elimination irrigation therapy has been proposed as a potential treatment for upper respiratory tract infections, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, due to its antiviral properties and mechanical cleansing effects. Additionally, a combination of mineral water with antibiotic therapy has shownto be effective in improving the course clinical infection and positively impact the immune system, potentially enhancing the normal state of microbiota state. The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of elimination-irrigation therapy using a combination of mineral water and ciprofloxacin on the interaction form of individual microbiota species of the upper respiratory tract mucous membrane.

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has caused an unprecedented global public health crisis and continues to pose grave threats to human health. The efficacy of current vaccines and therapeutics is likely limited for future emerging strains due to the highly mutative nature of the virus, underscoring an urgent need for the development of new, potent antiviral agents. In this study, we report the design and synthesis of a series of novel 2'-deoxy-2'-spirooxetane-7-deazapurine nucleoside analogs as potential inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 replication.

Data accumulated in scientific literature indicate that Parkinson's disease develops after infections caused by SARS-CoV-2, West Nile, Coxsackie, St. Louis viruses, Japanese encephalitis B, hepatitis B and C, influenza A, HIV, herpes viruses, flaviviruses.
