With the increasing incidence of thyroid cancer worldwide and the increasing demand for surgery, the risk of parathyroid injury is also increasing, which will lead to postoperative hypoparathyroidism (HP) and hypocalcemia. In order to improve the quality of life of patients after surgery, there is an urgent need to develop a novel platform that can identify the parathyroid gland immediately during surgery. The parathyroid gland promotes the increase of blood calcium concentration by secreting parathyroid hormone (PTH).

Monitoring perioperative tissue perfusion is crucial in clinical anesthesia to protect organs and ensure patient safety. Indicators like hemodynamic parameters, tissue metabolism, and microcirculation markers are used for assessment. Studies show intraoperative hypotension negatively impacts outcomes, though blood pressure alone may not reflect tissue perfusion accurately.

Purpose: Precise tumor excision is important but challenging in breast-conserving surgery (BCS). Tumor-specific fluorescence imaging may be used for intraoperative tumor detection and, therefore, to guide precise tumor excision. The aims of this study are to develop a glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1)-targeted near-infrared fluorescence tracer and evaluate its accuracy for breast cancer detection using fresh surgical breast specimens.

Background: Chylothorax following esophagectomy is a frustrating complication with considerable morbidity. In addition, recognizing the morphological patterns of the thoracic duct (TD) holds great significance. This study was aimed at explore the safety and efficacy of three-dimensional (3D) thoracoscope in comparison with indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence to identify TD during minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) for esophageal cancer.

Introduction: Successful axillary reverse mapping (ARM) during lymph node surgery for breast cancer has the potential to reduce risk of lymphedema. Standard of care uses blue dye for ARM; however, recent imaging advances with near-infrared indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence has demonstrated potential to improve intraoperative ARM imaging. The objective was to determine the feasibility of using ICG fluorescence through the OnLume Avata System for ARM.
