Numerous thyroid diseases can impact patients' lives, one of which is Graves' ophthalmopathy (GO). Graves' ophthalmopathy is a progressive thyroid-related disease that causes eye symptoms due to an autoimmune reaction targeting thyrotropin/thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) receptors in the orbital space. This condition can be easily recognized by the patient, including exophthalmos, pain, swelling, double vision, and impaired vision.

The prevalence of goiter, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancers in the pediatric population has increased. In some rare cases, local conditions such as juvenile desmoid-type fibromatosis (JDTF) can mimic specific thyroid pathology, complicating the diagnostic process. A 17-year-old obese adolescent girl was admitted to the Endocrinology Department with progressive swelling on the left side of the neck, persisting for approximately one year, recently accompanied by dysphonia and inspiratory dyspnea, and ultimately diagnosed as a unilateral nodular goiter associated with compressive phenomena.

Surgical intervention in asymptomatic retrosternal goiter (RSG) is debated in the absence of suspicious cytology, while performing fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is challenging in thyroids with mediastinal extension. The rate of unexpected thyroid cancers found at the time of thyroidectomy varies widely, while the notion of increased cancer incidence in RSG with respect to cervical goiters is still controversial. We retrospectively reviewed 411 patients with a preoperative diagnosis of multinodular goiter (MNG) (114 retrosternal, 297 cervical) who underwent thyroidectomy at an academic endocrine surgery referral center between January 2019 and October 2022.

Background And Purpose: Observational studies have indicated a high occurrence of coexistence between myasthenia gravis (MG) and autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD) in clinical settings, but the causal relationship between the two conditions remains ambiguous. Therefore, this study endeavors to investigate the causal links between MG, along with its subgroups, and AITD through a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach.

Methods: Genetic instrumental variables associated with MG and AITD were selected from three major publicly available GWAS databases for MR analysis.

Objectives: To assess different tear film parameters in female patients with thyroid eye disease and diabetes using a single portable device.

Methods: The observational study was conducted at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 12 to April 28, 2022, and comprised women patients with thyroid eye disease in group A, women patients with diabetes in group B, and healthy controls in group C. The sample size was determined with a confidence level of 80% and a significance of 0.
