Infiltration of a vesicant, called extravasation, can result in severe patient injuries. Recognition of vesicants and their relative risk of injury is essential to extravasation prevention, early recognition, and appropriate treatment. In this article, the Vesicant Task Force (VTF) updates the previously published Infusion Nurses Society (INS) vesicant list from 2017. The 2024 INS list diverges from earlier vesicant lists, such as the 2017 VTF list, by adopting a risk stratification approach based upon documented patient outcomes, in contrast to the reliance on expert consensus or only surrogate risk indicators, such as pH and osmolarity. The methodology used to create the updated list is explained, and the criteria for high- and moderate-risk vesicants and cautionary vesicants are defined.

To date, over 170 different kinds of chemical modifications on RNAs have been identified, some of which are involved in multiple aspects of RNA fate, ranging from RNA processing, nuclear export, translation, and RNA decay. mA, also known as -methyladenosine, is a prominent internal RNA modification that is catalyzed primarily by the METTL3-METTL14-WTAP methyltransferase complex in higher eukaryotic mRNA and long noncoding RNA (lncRNA). In recent years, abnormal mA modification has been linked to the occurrence, development, progression, and prognosis of the majority of cancers.

Background And Objectives: Regular resistance exercise (RE) showed a promising effect in reducing frailty in older adults. However, the participation of RE among this population remains low. This study was, therefore, aimed at developing a complex intervention tailored to community-dwelling frail older adults in China to promote participation in RE and reduce frailty ultimately.

Gas-phase oxidation of isoprene by ozone (O) and the hydroxyl (OH) and nitrate (NO) radicals significantly impacts tropospheric oxidant levels and secondary organic aerosol formation. The most comprehensive and up-to-date chemical mechanism for isoprene oxidation consists of several hundred species and over 800 reactions. Therefore, the computational expense of including the entire mechanism in large-scale atmospheric chemical transport models is usually prohibitive, and most models employ reduced isoprene mechanisms ranging in size from ~ 10 to ~ 200 species.

Background: Postresidency training is becoming increasingly common among orthopedic surgeons, with shoulder and elbow surgery growing as a desired subspeciality. There is limited data evaluating how the reputation of an applicants' orthopedic residency influences the outcome of the shoulder and elbow fellowship match. The purpose of this study was to determine if applicants from residencies with better reputation have more favorable odds during the match process compared to applicants from residencies with a less prestigious reputation.

Objectives: Mantra recitation has been shown to improve emotional well-being in neurotypical individuals with mental health conditions; however, no research has explored its effect on the autistic population. The private, routine nature of mantra and mantra-like recitation may offer unique advantages for autistic individuals struggling with negative emotions and emotion regulation. The purpose of this study was therefore to conduct a preliminary study of the feasibility and efficacy of a self-guided, online program of reciting secular mantra-like phrases in improving negative emotions and cognitive coping mechanisms.
