Objective: This study evaluated the effectiveness of an AI-based tool (ChatGPT-4) (AIT) vs a human tutor (HT) in providing feedback on dental students' assignments.
Methods: A total of 194 answers to two histology questions were assessed by both tutors using the same rubric. Students compared feedback from both tutors and evaluated its accuracy against a standard rubric.

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis offers tremendous potential for addressing various biological questions, with one key application being the annotation of query datasets with unknown cell types using well-annotated external reference datasets. However, the performance of existing supervised or semi-supervised methods largely depends on the quality of source data. Furthermore, these methods often struggle with the batch effects arising from different platforms when handling multiple reference or query datasets, making precise annotation challenging.

We evaluated both environmental (workplace) and biological (urine) exposure to the anesthetic isoflurane concerning the effects of such exposure on the hematological, hepatic, and renal parameters in veterinarians. Samples were collected from exposed and nonexposed (volunteers) groups to assess hematological and several biochemical markers, and isoflurane was measured in the workplace air and veterinarian's urine. Isoflurane was detected at high levels in the air and urine.

Hydrogels composed of collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body, are widely used as scaffolds for tissue engineering due to their ability to support cellular activity. However, collagen hydrogels with encapsulated cells often experience bulk contraction due to cell-generated forces, and conventional strategies to mitigate this undesired deformation often compromise either the fibrillar microstructure or cytocompatibility of the collagen. To support the spreading of encapsulated cells while preserving the structural integrity of the gels, we present an interpenetrating network (IPN) of two distinct collagen networks with different crosslinking mechanisms and microstructures.

Cenobamate is a new and highly effective antiseizure compound used for the treatment of adults with focal onset seizures and particularly for epilepsy resistant to other antiepileptic drugs. It acts on multiple targets, as it is a positive allosteric activator of γ-aminobutyric acid type A (GABA) receptors and an inhibitor of neuronal sodium channels, particularly of the late or persistent Na current. We recently evidenced the inhibitory effects of cenobamate on the peak and late current component of the human cardiac isoform hNav1.
