Necrotizing otitis externa (NOE) is a severe infection primarily affecting the external auditory canal, seen mainly in immunocompromised individuals as patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). This case report highlights unusual complications of NOE: temporal bone and nasopharyngeal abscesses. These complications underscore the severity of NOE, particularly when caused by rare pathogens such as Klebsiella species. We detail the case of a 70-year-old male with uncontrolled DM who presented with severe right ear pain, purulent discharge, and significant postauricular swelling. Laboratory investigations revealed elevated inflammatory markers and poorly controlled diabetes. Cultures confirmed , and imaging showed diffuse edema and abscess formation in the temporal bone and nasopharynx. The patient was treated with intravenous Ceftazidime and ciprofloxacin for 6 weeks, followed by oral ciprofloxacin. Effective management of NOE necessitates a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. Early intervention, regular monitoring, and imaging are critical for promptly detecting and managing complications.

To describe the distribution of jugular bulb position and pneumatization of posterior lip of internal auditory meatus (IAM) in patients with vestibular schwannoma (VS). This retrospective study included 43 patients who had a thin slice (< 2 mm) CT temporal bone for preoperative planning of retrosigmoid approach for excision of VS between March 2011 and March 2021. On computed tomography (CT), high riding jugular bulb was defined by its relationship to IAM and correlated with type of jugular bulb according to Manjila et al.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the styloid process (TBSP) phenotype and to identify suggestive images of calcified atheromatous plaques (CAP) in panoramic radiographs of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and post-surgical hypoparathyroidism (hypoPT). Additionally, it aimed to analyze the association between the bone mineral status of patients with parathyroid diseases and the radiographic findings.
Material And Methods: A cross-sectional case-control study was conducted with individuals diagnosed with PHPT (n = 25) and post-surgical hypoPT (n = 25).

Background: The standard approach for addressing intra-articular calcaneal fractures involves open reduction with plate and screw fixation, with ongoing discourse regarding the application of grafts to address bone gaps. The aim of this study is the temporal comparison of the radiological and functional outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for intra-articular calcaneal fractures, with a specific focus on the use of bone grafts.
Methods: Thirty patients, comprising 13 with iliac grafts and 17 without, were enrolled in the study.

Endolymphatic sac tumors (ELSTs) are rare, slow-growing, and locally aggressive neoplasms that originate from the epithelial lining of the endolymphatic duct and sac. These are characterized by their infiltrative growth pattern and the potential for local destruction of surrounding structures, including the inner ear and temporal bone. We report a case of an incidentally diagnosed sporadic ELST.

Background: La-related protein 7 (LARP7) is a key regulator of RNA metabolism and is thought to play a role in various cellular processes. LARP7 gene autosomal recessive mutations are the cause of Alazami syndrome, which presents with skeletal abnormalities, intellectual disabilities, and facial dysmorphisms. This study aimed to determine the role of LARP7 in modulating gene expression dynamics during osteogenesis.
