Heteroepitaxial interfaces are important because they determine the performance of devices such that career mobility is sensitive to the distribution of roughness, strain and composition at the interface. High-angle annular dark field imaging in scanning transmission electron microscopy has been utilized to capture them at an atomic scale. For precise identification of atomic column positions, a technique has been proposed to average multiple image frames taken at a high scanning rate by their positional alignment for increasing signal-to-noise ratio. However, the positional alignment between frames is sometimes incorrectly estimated because of the almost perfect periodic structure at the interfaces. Here, we developed an approach for precise positional alignment, where the images are first aligned by two consecutive images and then are aligned more precisely against the integrated image of the first alignment. We demonstrated our method by applying it to the heterointerface of Si0.8Ge0.2 (Si: silicon, Ge: germanium) epitaxial thin films on a Si substrate.

Background: This study examines the relationship between the anterior offset of the tibial intramedullary nail (TIN) entry point and the tibial shaft axis to enhance the fit and alignment of TINs, using transparent 3D-CT in an accurate lateral view to minimize rotational artifacts.
Methods: Data were collected from 100 adult patients undergoing tibial CT scans. Measurements included the anterior offset from the tibial axis to the entry point, tibial tubercle offset, tibial plateau length, posterior slope, tibial length, isthmus diameter, and the isthmus-to-tibial length ratio.

Objective: The effect of different attachment positions on torque control during the labialization of maxillary lateral incisors with clear aligners was evaluated using finite element analysis.
Methods: Anatomical data acquired through cone-beam computed tomography, combined with the design of 0.625-mm-thick aligners and horizontal attachments, were integrated into the software.

Introduction: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in valgus knees is challenging. Optimal ligament balance, implant neutral or moderate valgus alignment are crucial but conventional instrumentations usually lead to outliers. Robotic arm assisted TKA (RATKA) advantages could answer this challenge.

Objective: To evaluate the early effectiveness of navigation-free robot-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA) compared to traditional TKA in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis combined with extra-articular deformities.
Methods: The clinical data of 30 patients with knee osteoarthritis combined with extra-articular deformities who met the selection criteria between June 2019 and January 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Fifteen patients underwent CORI navigation-free robot-assisted TKA and intra-articular osteotomy (robot group) and 15 patients underwent traditional TKA and intra-articular osteotomy (traditional group).

The main objective of this research is to investigate the epistemic and pragmatic management of patient-doctor interactions in Italian online health communities. To achieve this goal, an advanced web scraping methodology was used to extract from an Italian Q&A service (within the healthcare platforms, Il Mio Dottore) 200 pairs of questions and answers concerning two pathological conditions: anxiety and hypothyroidism. We first tagged the two sub-corpora and analyzed them both quantitatively and qualitatively to establish (i) what types of questions were used by patients, and what epistemic attitude and pragmatic function they convey; (ii) whether doctors' replies were aligned or not; (iii) whether there were differences between the two sub-corpora.
