Purpose: Head acceleration events (HAEs) are a growing concern in contact sports, prompting two rugby governing bodies to mandate instrumented mouthguards (iMGs). This has resulted in an influx of data imposing financial and time constraints. This study presents two computational methods that leverage a dataset of video-coded match events: cross-correlation synchronisation aligns iMG data to a video recording, by providing playback timestamps for each HAE, enabling analysts to locate them in video footage; and post-synchronisation event matching identifies the coded match event (e.

Chemotherapy resistance (CR) represents one of the most important barriers to effective oncological therapy and often leads to ineffective intervention and unfavorable clinical prognosis. Emerging studies have emphasized the vital significance of extracellular RNA (exRNA) in influencing CR. This thorough assessment intends to explore the multifaceted contributions of exRNA, such as exosomal RNA, microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, and circular RNAs, to CR in cancer.

Purposeful movement often requires selection of a particular action from a range of alternatives, but how does the brain represent potential actions so that they can be compared for selection, and how are motor commands generated if movement is initiated before the final goal is identified? According to one hypothesis, the brain averages partially prepared motor plans to generate movement when there is goal uncertainty. This is consistent with the idea that motor decision-making unfolds through competition between internal representations of alternative actions. An alternative hypothesis holds that only one movement, which is optimized for task performance, is prepared for execution at any time.

A Bibliometric Analysis on the Risk Factors of Cancer.

Genes Chromosomes Cancer

January 2025

School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford, UK.

Given the high lethality of cancer, identifying its risk factors is crucial in both epidemiology and cancer research. This study employs a novel bibliometric analysis method, which uses the tidytext package and tidy tools in R. This approach surpasses traditional tools like VOSviewer, offering more comprehensive and complex keyword data and clearer results compared to Bibliometrix.

Background: The intraoperative measurements are essential steps in cochlear implant (CI) surgery for confirming correct electrode placement.

Objectives: To examine the intraoperative impedance and electrically evoked action potential (ECAP) measurement results of cochlear implant (CI) users with normal cochlear anatomy (NCA) and to compare them with CI users with inner ear malformations (IEM).

Material And Methods: This retrospective study included intraoperative data of 300 ears from 258 individuals using Medel and Cochlear (Nucleus) CI devices.
