The anode-free lithium metal battery (AF-LMB) demonstrates the emerging battery chemistry, exhibiting higher energy density than the existing lithium-ion battery and conventional LMB empirically. A systematic step-by-step while bottom-up calculation system is first developed to quantitatively depict the energy gap from theory to practice. The attainable high energy of AF-LMB necessitates a homogeneous Li flux on the anode side to achieve an improved Li reversibility against inventory loss. On such basis, a lithiophilic CuP-decorated 3D copper foil to promote dendrite-free lithium deposition is further reported. The phosphorized surface of high affinity toward Li incorporating the nanostructure of abundant nucleation sites synergistically regulates the Li nucleation/growth behavior, extending the cycling lifespan of high-loading AF-LMBs. The processed foil featuring lightweight and ultrathin merits further increases the energy density, both gravimetrically and volumetrically. This study provides a novel scheme for simultaneously realizing the uniform deposition of lithium and increasing the energy density of future AF-LMBs.

Purpose: To assess the effect of anterior chamber depth on corneal endothelium using specular microscopy following uneventful phacoemulsification among cataract patients with different axial lengths.
Methods: The study was conducted in a quasi-experimental design including 300 eyes of 300 patients with grade three age-related nuclear cataract distributed equally based on their axial length into three equal groups. All eyes had grade three nuclear cataract.

Dielectric-based energy storage capacitors characterized with fast charging and discharging speed and reliability play a vital role in cutting-edge electrical and electronic equipment. In pursuit of capacitor miniaturization and integration, dielectrics must offer high energy density and efficiency. Antiferroelectrics with antiparallel dipole configurations have been of significant interest for high-performance energy storage due to their negligible remanent polarization and high maximum polarization in the field-induced ferroelectric state.

A particle current generated by pumping in the absence of gradients in potential energy, density or temperature is associated with non-trivial dynamics. A representative example is charge pumping that is associated with the quantum Hall effect and the quantum anomalous Hall effect. Spin pumping, the spin equivalent of charge pumping, refers to the emission of a spin current by magnetization dynamics.

Owing to the differences in sedimentary environments in the mining areas of western China, the mechanical properties of rocks in this region are significantly different from those in the central and eastern regions. Therefore, uniaxial cyclic loading-unloading tests were conducted on fine sandstone found in many roof rocks to study the evolution laws of mechanical properties, deformation characteristics, acoustic emission (AE) parameters, and energy under cyclic loading and unloading conditions. The accumulated residual strain, dissipative energy, acoustic emission cumulative ringing counts, and cumulative energy were introduced to characterize the degree of rock damage.

Density functional theory calculations on the cyclization of di-t-butyl 2-(2-aminophenyl)-2-methyl malonate (1) to t-butyl 3-methyloxindole-3-carboxylate (2) reveal that acetic acid-assisted protonation of the carbonyl oxygen atom reduces the activation Gibbs free energy significantly lower than methanol-assisted pathways. Experimental data confirm that reaction concentration plays a pivotal role in oxindole formation. Experimental results also indicate distinct reaction mechanisms at low and high concentrations.
