Modulating memristors optically paves the way for new optoelectronic devices with applications in computer vision, neuromorphic computing, and artificial intelligence. Here, we report on memristors based on a hybrid material of vertically aligned zinc oxide nanorods (ZnO NRs) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). The memristors require no forming step and exhibit the typical electronic switching properties of a bipolar memristor.

Objective: Accelerated Long-term Forgetting (ALF) is a phenomenon characterized by abnormal memory forgetting over hours or days, despite normal initial acquisition. Because standardized memory assessments typically test memory retention over delays of up to 30 minutes, ALF may be undetected.
Methods: The first Experiment of the present study was aimed to validate, in a sample of healthy subjects ( = 54, 20 to 79 years old), a long-term verbal and visuospatial memory procedure, using common tests but administered at extended intervals.

The idea that disease is caused at the cellular level is so fundamental to us that we might forget the critical role microscopy played in generating and developing this insight. Visually identifying diseased or infected cells lays the foundation for any effort to curb human pathology. Since the discovery of the Plasmodium-infected red blood cells, which cause malaria, microscopy has undergone an impressive development now literally resolving individual molecules.

Background: The SPACe 2: STAR trial is a multicenter trial in children with an autism spectrum disorder, divided over nine centers in the Netherlands. However, it is challenging to include enough participants due to various factors, including the varying status of the disorder and willingness of parents and children.
Aim: To identify and overcome the bottlenecks for practitioners during the trial to prevent major delays.
