Acute kidney injury (AKI) can result in a sudden decline in kidney function and, if not promptly diagnosed and treated, can lead to a high mortality rate. Therefore, there is a critical need for the development of a non-invasive and dependable early diagnostic method for AKI to prevent its progression and deterioration. To address the risk of misdiagnosis or overlooked diagnosis due to reliance on a single biomarker, we developed a novel molecular fluorescent probe (HX-GP) to simultaneously detect and image two biomarkers, γ-Glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GGT) and Peroxynitrite (ONOO), in the AKI process. HX-GP can specifically detect γ-GGT in the red fluorescence channel (λ = 613 nm) and ONOO in the green fluorescence channel (λ = 518 nm). HX-GP demonstrated high sensitivity, selectivity, and rapid response, showing excellent biocompatibility and detection performance. In addition, HX-GP was successful in imaging experiments in a cell model of cisplatin-induced AKI, a result that highlights its potential application value in early diagnosis of AKI.

In order to investigate the clinical manifestations and laboratory findings associated with brucellosis for the purpose of facilitating prompt clinical diagnosis and effective treatment, as well as to offer a laboratory reference for the prevention of brucellosis outbreaks. In this study, a retrospective cohort design was employed to gather epidemiological characteristics, clinical symptoms, and associated laboratory data from 391 patients diagnosed with bacterial culture-positive brucellosis at the People's Hospital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region between 2019 and 2023. The patients were categorized into four age groups, with each group representing a 20 years age interval.

The peptidoglycan manifests as a multifaceted component of the bacterial cell wall. Throughout the lifecycle of the bacterium, the peptidoglycan is deconstructed, rebuilt, and remodeled for bacterial cell growth and replication. Degradation products of the peptidoglycan serve as precursors for cell-wall building blocks via recycling processes and as signaling molecules.

Aim Of The Study: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a pathological condition associated with inflammation owing to fat deposition in the liver. Managing hypertriglyceridemia is essential for patients with NAFLD, including treatment with pemafibrate. However, whether pemafibrate affects fat deposition in the liver and whether hypertriglyceridemia is the primary treatment target remain unclear.

Objective: To investigate the prognostic value of albumin (ALB), aspartate aminotransferase/alanine aminotransferase ratio (AST/ALT) in patients with acute liver failure (ALF) in hyperacute phase of sepsis which provided the basis for clinical evaluation and prognostic judgment and corresponding treatment options.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was conducted. Patients with ALF in hyperacute phase of sepsis admitted to Zhoupu Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Health College, Shanghai Pudong New Area People's Hospital, and Shanghai Oriental Hospital from January 2019 to February 2024 were enrolled.
