Magnetic resonance imaging and circulating molecular testing are potential methods for diagnosing and treating Parkinson's disease (PD). However, their relationships remain insufficiently studied. Using genome-wide association summary statistics, we found in the general population a genetic negative correlation between white matter tract mean diffusivity and PD (-0.

Enzyme-powered synthetic colloidal motors hold promising potential for medical applications because of their unique features such as self-propulsion, sub-micrometer size, fuel bioavailability, and structural and functional versatility. However, the key parameters influencing the propulsion efficiency of enzyme-powered colloidal motors still remain unclear. Here, we report the effect of the neck length of urease-powered pentosan flask-like colloidal motors on their kinematic behavior resembling the role of bacterial flagella.

As tailpipe emissions have decreased, there is a growing focus on the relative contribution of non-exhaust sources of vehicle emissions. Addressing these emissions is key to better evaluating and reducing vehicles' impact on air quality and public health. Tailoring solutions for different non-exhaust sources, including brake emissions, is essential for achieving sustainable mobility.

Objective: Using health literacy informed communication strategies can mitigate health inequities. Despite the high prevalence of limited health literacy among parents and children, pediatricians infrequently use clear communication techniques and further education is imperative. There is minimal literature exploring health literacy curricula in pediatric residencies.

We study topological charge pumping (TCP) in the Rice-Mele (RM) model with irreciprocal hopping. The non-Hermiticity gives rise to interesting pumping physics, owing to the presence of skin effect and exceptional points. In the static one-dimensional (1D) RM model, we find two independent tuning knobs that can drive the topological transition, namely, non-Hermitian parameter $\gamma$ and system size $N$.
