This case report focusses on a unique and infrequently observed event where an isolated masseter muscle fungal invasion was seen. The patient's symptoms include facial swelling and restricted mouth opening. The rarity of this particular manifestation is emphasised by the fact that there are no previously reported cases where fungal infection was the cause of isolated masseter muscle involvement. This lack of documented cases underscores the novelty and significance of the current case.

Social isolation affects physical functioning owing to psychological stress. We constructed a rat model to clarify the unexplored effects of social isolation and to determine whether environmental changes as an intervention against social isolation can reduce the stress-inducing effects of social isolation on physiological factors. Eight-week-old male rats were divided into three groups: group-housed, isolated, and intervention.

The purpose of the present manuscript is to provide an overview for researchers and clinicians summarizing the knowledge concerning the relationship between some of the main sleep-related conditions of dental interest: sleep bruxism (SB), obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Starting with the discussion of the evolving current knowledge on SB, the interconnections are discussed. Most of the available literature focused on the possible relationship between OSA and SB, but a clear pathophysiological connection or temporal relationship has not been identified.

Background: Every region of the face may bear the signs of aging. Treating isolated areas without adequate anatomical knowledge can lead to incomplete or artificial-looking results and decrease patient satisfaction. The authors' "Full SMAS" technique for complete rejuvenation addresses the anatomical continuity of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS)-platysma to the deep-plane suspension of the face.
