Sludge pretreatment plays a crucial role in solubilizing particulate matters to release organic matter for subsequent anaerobic fermentation (AF). This study innovatively combines radio frequency (RF) heating and alkaline treatment, and finds that the combined pretreatment achieved a sludge disintegration rate of 35.11 %, which is 15.19 % and 8.48 % higher than single RF or alkaline pretreatment. The dissociated ions from the alkali are conducive to RF action on sludge. Furthermore, the combined pretreatment significantly benefits the subsequent AF experiments, resulting in a 9-fold increase in volatile fatty acids production. Considering cost-effectiveness, the optimal operating condition is a 10-minute RF treatment at pH 10 with a total cost of 4.35 × 10 dollars per kg soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) increased. These findings provide a foundational basis for the development of a novel technology for sludge pretreatment.

Background: Breast cancer poses a significant health burden in Ghana and globally, being the primary cause of cancer-related illness and death among women. The World Health Organization has identified clinical breast examination as the gold standard for women in low and middle-income countries. However, the uptake of clinical breast examination remains low in these settings, including Ghana, where the nationwide prevalence and associated factors of this practice have not been determined.

The effects of sugar boiling pretreatment (SBP) with different maltitol concentrations (20 %, 30 %, and 40 %) and boiling time (0 - 6 min) on the physicochemical and functional properties of purple sweet potato flour and the radiofrequency explosion puffing (RFEP) quality were investigated. The results showed that the volume ratio, crispness, anthocyanin retention rate and overall acceptability of the samples were maximized after boiling for 6 min at 40 % maltitol concentration achieving increases of 78.63 %, 437.

Evidence suggest that dietary advanced glycation end products (AGEs) might exert harmful effects on female reproductive function. However, population-based studies exploring the associations between dietary AGEs intake and female infertility remain lacking. This studyaimed to determine the relationship between dietary AGEs intake and female infertility based on National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

In field of location prediction, trajectory recognition is one of the most widely research issues. Since trajectory includes various information such as position, time, and speed, many scientific methods are applied to extracting meaningful features, and discovering valuable knowledges. This paper pays more attention on case study of in-store trajectory, and proposes a series of recurrent neural network (RNN) for location prediction based on trajectory.

One of the most significant advances in stimulated emission depletion (STED) super-resolution microscopy is its capacity for dynamic super-resolution imaging of living cells, including the long-term tracking of interactions between various cells or organelles. Consequently, the multicolor STED plays a pivotal role in biological research. Despite the emergence of numerous fluorescent probes characterized by low toxicity, high stability, high brightness, and exceptional specificity, enabling dynamic imaging of living cells with multicolor STED, practical implementation of multicolor STED for live-cell imaging is influenced by several factors.
