Background: There has been a series of bird surveys conducted in Vietnam over the last 20 years. However, most of these studies and surveys have focused on sites in Tonkin, the Red River Delta, Cochinchina (Mekong Delta), the Central Highlands and mountainous areas of Central Annam (Central region of Vietnam). The central coastal plain as well as the mountainous region of North Annam have rarely been comprehensively investigated.

New Information: As a result of our field surveys in 2023 and 2024, a total of 15 species of birds are recorded for the first time from North, Central and South Annam, comprising one Frigate-Bird species (Fregatidae), one ibis (Threskiornithidae), one reed-warbler (Acrocephalidae), one Treecreeper (Certhiidae), two buntings (Emberizidae), one chat (Muscicapidae), one yuhina (Zosteropidae), two nuthatches (Sittidae), two members of the laughingthrush family (Leiothrichidae) and three bulbuls (Pycnonotidae). In addition to photographs confirming the new records, we provide information on the distribution and conservation status of these newly-recorded bird species from Central Vietnam.

is described as a new species endemic to Central Vietnam. It is morphologically closest to in having setose hairs on the abaxial leaf surface and a pedunculate head-like inflorescence but differs from the latter by a number of characteristics: shorter stem, 3-lobed stipules, narrowly lanceolate leaf blades with a cuneate-oblique base and 20-22 pairs of secondary veins, 3.5-4.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is among the top three causes of global cancer mortality. In Vietnam, CRC is the third leading cause of death in women and the fourth cause of cancer mortality in men. A large number of metagenomic studies have reported the relationship between altered composition and function of the gut microbiota with CRC, but this relationship in low- and middle-income countries including Vietnam (with an estimated population of 100.

Two novel complexes, [Cu()Cl] and [Zn()Cl], were synthesized from 1,1'-[(3-fluoro-phen-yl)methyl-ene]bis-[3-(3-fluoro-phen-yl)imidazo[1,5-]pyridine] (), and copper(II) and zinc(II) chloride, respectively. The structures of these complexes were confirmed using ESI-MS, IR and H NMR spectra. The results reveal mononuclear structures in which the central metal atoms are coordinated by two N atoms from the imidazole rings and two Cl ligands.

Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common malignant solid tumor of the liver in children and is a fatal disease with a poor prognosis. Therefore, indicators that can be used for the early prediction of the HB prognosis are necessary.
