Despite a growing number of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and documented risk for adverse outcomes as they age, little is known about the health and healthcare patterns of adults with different IDD throughout adulthood. This study uses Wisconsin Medicaid claims data to characterize health conditions among adults with IDD. Results indicate high prevalence of asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. Heart disease rates were particularly high, having been observed among 39% of autistic adults, 64% of autistic adults with intellectual disability (ID), 67% of adults with Down syndrome, and 75% of adults with ID only. Given there are no known biological differences underlying increased morbidities among most people with IDD, developing inclusive prevention measures should be prioritized in future research.

This study sought to establish and validate an interpretable CT radiomics-based machine learning model capable of predicting post-acute pancreatitis diabetes mellitus (PPDM-A), providing clinicians with an effective predictive tool to aid patient management in a timely fashion. Clinical and imaging data from 271 patients who had undergone enhanced CT scans after first-episode acute pancreatitis from March 2017-June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were classified into PPDM-A (n = 109) and non-PPDM-A groups (n = 162), and split into training (n = 189) and testing (n = 82) cohorts at a 7:3 ratio.

Background: People with intellectual disabilities are less likely to have access to palliative care, and the evidence shows that their deaths are often unanticipated, unplanned for, and poorly managed. Within the general population, people from minoritised ethnic groups are under-represented within palliative care services. End-of-life care planning with people with intellectual disabilities from minoritised ethnic groups may be a way to address these issues.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) in Down syndrome (DS) is associated with changes in brain structure. It is unknown if thickness and volumetric changes can identify AD stages and if they are similar to other genetic forms of AD.
Methods: Magnetic resonance imaging scans were collected for 178 DS adults (106 nonclinical, 45 preclinical, and 27 symptomatic).
