Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe clinical syndrome characterized by rapid deterioration of renal function caused by a variety of pathogeneses. Natural polyphenols have been considered to have potential in the treatment of AKI due to their powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, but their low bioavailability limits their efficacy. Polyphenol nanoparticles based on a nano-delivery system show good effects in reducing kidney injury, improving renal function and promoting renal tissue repair, and brings new hope and possibility for the treatment of AKI. This review provides an overview of the common characteristics, treatments, and associated adverse effects of AKI. The classification and bioavailability of polyphenols as well as their therapeutic role in AKI and potential possible effects are outlined. The potential therapeutic effects of polyphenol-based nanoparticles on AKI and the underlying mechanisms are discussed.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with adverse hospitalization. Previous studies have reported that an elevated triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is significantly associated with the development of AKI in patients with cardiovascular disease, as well as in those undergoing surgery; however, the potential of the TyG index to predict AKI following neurotrauma remains unclear. Patients diagnosed with traumatic brain injury (TBI) in Chinese tertiary hospitals between January 2014 and December 2023 were included in this retrospective study.

Unlabelled: Despite the fact that canagliflozin (Cana), a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor, is an anti-diabetic medication with additional effects on the kidney, there is limited experimental data to deliberate its hepato-reno-protective potentiality. Acetaminophen (APAP) overdose remains one of the prominent contributors to hepato-renal damage.
Aim: Our study assessed the novel effect of Cana against APAP-induced toxicities.

Background: Adult people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF) have a higher risk of end-stage kidney disease than the general population. The nature and mechanism of kidney disease in CF are unknown. This study quantifies urinary kidney injury markers and examines the hypothesis that neutrophil activation and lung infection are associated with early kidney injury in CF.

Background: Telemedicine may help improve care quality and patient outcomes. Telemedicine for intraoperative decision support has not been rigorously studied.
Methods: This was a single-centre randomised clinical trial of unselected adult surgical patients.
