Purpose: To investigate the test-retest reliability and construct validity of the Brief Pain Inventory-Short Form (BPI-SF) in individuals with rotator cuff-related shoulder pain (RCRSP).
Methods: Sixty-one participants with RCRSP completed the BPI-SF twice with an interval of two to seven days and Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) at the initial visit. The BPI-SF pain severity subscale, pain interference subscale, and stand-alone pain severity items were analysed using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and minimal detectable change at the 95% confidence interval (MDC). The construct validity of BPI-SF was assessed against SPADI using Pearson's correlation.
Results: The BPI-SF pain severity and pain interference subscales presented moderate test-retest reliability (ICC = 0.73, 0.53) and MDC were 2.05 and 2.36. All stand-alone BPI-SF pain severity items presented a moderate reliability (ICC = 0.62, 0.70). BPI-SF interference items presented poor to moderate reliability (ICC = 0.39, 0.68). The correlation coefficients between the BPI-SF and SPADI subscales or total scores were large ( = 0.61, 0.75).
Conclusions: BPI-SF pain severity and pain interference subscales have a moderate reliability in individuals with RCRSP. BPI-SF pain severity and interference subscales showed high construct validity in individuals with RCRSP. MDC values are useful metrics for interpreting a true change in BPI-SF scores following interventions in individuals with RCRSP.

Voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) was identified as an effective strategy in HIV prevention. Although circumcision reduces heterosexual acquisition of HIV by 60%, there is low uptake of VMMC services in Eswatini. This study applies the health belief model (HBM) in understanding perceptions of young men in Eswatini towards VMMC for HIV prevention to upscale its adoption.

Microtextured microneedles are tiny needle-like structures with micron-scale microtextures, and the drugs stored in the microtextures can be released after entering the skin to achieve the effect of precise drug delivery. In this study, the skin substitution model of Ogden's hyperelastic model and the microneedle array and microtexture models with different geometrical parameters were selected to simulate and analyse the flow of the microtexture microneedle arrays penetrating the skin by the finite-element method, and the length of the microneedles was determined to be 200 μm, the width 160 μm, and the value of the gaps was determined to be 420 μm. A four-pronged cone was chosen as the shape of microneedles, and a rectangle was chosen as the shape of the drug-carrying microneedle.

Currently, pain assessment using electroencephalogram signals and machine learning methods in clinical studies is of great importance, especially for those who cannot express their pain. Since newborns are among the high-risk group and always experience pain at the beginning of birth, in this research, the severity of newborns has been investigated and evaluated. Other studies related to the annoyance of newborns have used the EEG signal of newborns alone; therefore, in this study, the intensity of newborn pain was measured using the electroencephalogram signal of 107 infants who were stimulated by the heel lance in three levels: no pain, low pain and moderate pain were recorded as a single trial and evaluated.

Purpose: This study evaluated whether endovascular therapy (ET) improved early symptom relief and decreased the incidence of moderate-to-severe post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) compared to anticoagulation alone in patients with subacute (15-28 days) iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Materials And Methods: Consecutive patients with subacute iliofemoral DVT from January 2020 to June 2022 were identified. A total of 86 patients were categorized to treatment with ET alongside anticoagulation (endovascular group, n = 49) or anticoagulation alone (anticoagulation group, n = 37).

Backround: Manual therapy techniques are available for pain management in Multiple Sclerosis (MS); however, the results of neurodynamic mobilization (NM) are not known. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of NM exercises on pain, muscle strength and upper extremity functions in MS patients.
Methods: Patients aged between 18 and 65 years diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting (RR) MS (n = 31) according to McDonald 2010 diagnostic criteria were included in the study.
