In cotton fabric inkjet printing, the spreading and penetration of the ink seriously damage printing resolution and color strength. In this study, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) with varying viscosity grades (6, 30, 100, 400, and 4000 mPa·s) were used for fabric pretreatment to reduce the ink spreading and penetration. The results indicated that HPMC with a high viscosity grade enhanced the ability of pretreatment paste to form a continuous HPMC film on the fiber surface. A continuous film could greatly increase the hydrophobicity of the fabric, thereby restricting the spreading and penetration of ink. Meanwhile, ink migration was also limited by the paste connected to the fibers and the swelling of the film, which was more significant at higher HPMC viscosity grades. However, the increase of the HPMC viscosity grade was not conducive to dye fixation. Additionally, HPMC with a viscosity grade of 100 mPa·s was considered a reasonable choice, which could improve printing resolution and color strength in industrial applications. This research provides a new approach for optimizing pretreatment paste to achieve high-quality printed products.

The present work focuses on the production of sildenafil co-evaporates loaded emulgels as topical dosage forms for the treatment of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Topical administration of sildenafil citrate (SILD) co-evaporates is expected to improve the bioavailability profile of the drug and to avoid the severe side effects accompanying the traditional SILD dosage forms, especially for prohibited cardiovascular cases. Firstly, the solubility of SILD was improved via solid dispersion via co-evaporation technique using PEG-5KDa and PVP-K90 as hydrophilic carriers.

Antibiotic eyedrops typically require frequent instillation due to the eye's defensive mechanisms limiting drugs from reaching target sites. This may risk patient non-adherence and treatment inefficacy. The aim of this study was to develop a biocompatible and fully soluble ocular film insert to enhance the delivery of levofloxacin, as well as the handling procedure for its administration; based on the anatomical dimensions and physiological conditions of the human eye.

The present study aims to formulate a stimuli-responsive hydrogel system to codeliver acacia honey and glycyrrhizic acid for topical application that will aid in absorbing wound exudates, control microbial infestation, and produce angiogenic and antioxidant effects to accelerate wound healing. Therefore, both the natural active constituents were incorporated within an hydrogel composed of poloxamer and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), where the concentrations of the polymers were optimized using Design-Expert software considering optimum values of the dependent variables, gelation temperature (34-37 °C), gelation time (<10 min), and the viscosity (2000-3500 cPs). The optimized formulation showed improved physicochemical properties such as mucoadhesiveness, porosity, swelling, and spreadability, which makes it suitable for wound application.

Due to the high frequency and severity of upper respiratory bacterial infections, probiotics could offer a new medical approach. We explored the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of the new strain BIA and formulated a nasal spray. BIA was isolated from orange peel and taxonomically identified through 16S rRNA gene sequencing.

Cytolytic vaginosis or, classically, Doderlein's cytolysis is characterized by significant growth of species of the genus, which leads to high amounts of lactic acid in the vaginal environment. has been proposed as a key pathogen in this clinical condition. The symptomatology of cytolytic vaginosis is commonly confused with that of vulvovaginal candidosis, leading to inadequate and ineffective azole therapies.
