The 24 and 19 International Congresses on Reproduction and Stem Cell Biology in the Islamic Republic of Iran brought together experts and researchers worldwide to explore the latest advancements in these fields. Different topics were discussed, including such as reproductive health, infertility treatments, stem cell research, and regenerative medicine. This report provides a summary of the congress's key findings by emphasizing pioneer research and technologies that can influence the future of reproduction and stem cell biology programs. The presence of keynote speakers such as Professor Nicolas Rivron, Mohammad Ebrahim Parsanezhad, Ashraf Moini, Abbas Aflatoonian, Hadi Shafiee, Anna Brini, Omid Camron Farokhzad, and Jeffrey Schweitzer added value to the event, which had over 1100 participants from around the world. While foreign speakers were from various countries Iranian speakers mainly came from Tabriz, Isfahan, Shiraz, Babol, and Tehran that all discussed cutting-edge science and successful disease treatments. To ensure a more comprehensive representation, it is suggested that a wider geographic distribution of national and foreign speakers should be considered in future plan.

Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is an acquired clonal disorder of hematopoietic stem cells induced by PIG-A gene mutations. It is clinically manifested by hemolysis, bone marrow failure, and high-risk concurrent thrombosis, which are life-threatening in severe cases. Significant progress has been made in the pathogenesis research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of PNH in recent years.

This study enrolled five patients with classic paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (cPNH) who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in our hospital from 2019 to 2023. All five patients were male, with a median age of 26 (range: 26-46) years. The median time from diagnosis to allo-HSCT was 5.

Peking University People's Hospital, Peking University Institute of Hematology, National Clinical Research Center for Hematologic Disease, Beijing Key Laboratory of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Beijing 100044, China.

This study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics of oral mucositis (OM) in patients with hematological diseases who received secondary allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) . This study retrospectively analyzed data on 58 patients with hematological diseases who underwent secondary allo-HSCT at the Peking University People's Hospital from January 2018 to December 2023. The control group included 116 randomized patients after primary allo-HSCT during this period (1:2 ratio) with matched gender, age, and diagnosis.

Linking tumor immune infiltration to enhanced longevity in recurrence-free breast cancer.

ESMO Open

January 2025

Translational Genomics and Targeted Therapies in Solid Tumors group, August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), Barcelona, Spain; Institute of Cancer and Blood Diseases, Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain; Reveal Genomics, Barcelona, Spain. Electronic address:

Background: The infiltration of tumor-infiltrating B cells and plasma cells in early-stage breast cancer has been associated with a reduced risk of distant metastasis. However, the influence of B-cell tumor infiltration on overall patient survival remains unclear.

Materials And Methods: This study explored the relationship between an antitumor immune response, measured by a 14-gene B-cell/immunoglobulin (IGG) signature, and mortality risk in 9638 breast cancer patients across three datasets.

Cancer is one of the most fatal diseases threatening public health globally, and tumor metastasis causes greater than 90 % of cancer-associated deaths, presenting huge challenges for detection and efficient treatment of various human cancers. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are a rare population of cancer cells and increasing evidences indicated CSCs are the driving force of tumor metastasis. In this study, a p-AuNSs-assisted single-cell Raman spectra has been established, to extract and amplify of CSCs fingerprints with single cell sensitivity.
