Multiple photon addition and subtraction applied to multi-mode thermal and sub-Poissonian fields as well as twin beams are mutually compared using one experimental setup. Twin beams (TWBs) with tight spatial correlations detected by an intensified CCD camera with high spatial resolution are used to prepare the initial fields. Up to three photons are added or subtracted to arrive at the nonclassical and non-Gaussian states. Only the photon-subtracted thermal states (TSs) remain classical. In general, the experimental photon-added states exhibit greater nonclassicality and non-Gaussianity than the comparable photon-subtracted states. Once photons are added or subtracted in twin beams, both processes result in comparable properties of the obtained states owing to twin-beam photon pairing.

In this work, we design and implement a new bifocal diffractive spiral lens within an optical tweezers system. The proposed diffractive optical element coined Kolokaski Kinoform Spiral Lens (KKSL), generates twin optical vortices along the propagation direction. The axial positions, as well as the diameters of the generated vortex beams, are correlated with the Kolakoski aperiodic sequence introduced in the design of the diffractive lens.

In this paper, we present a compressive study on the design and development of a MEMS ring resonator and its dynamic behavior under electrostatic force when supported by twin circular curve beams. Finite element analysis (FEA)-based modeling techniques are used to simulate and refine the resonator geometry and transduction. Enhancement in the upconversion efficiency of each stage due to ultrafast temporal correlation is evaluated by varying the time delay between pumping beams. It is found that the temporal correlation of the twin beams is transferred to the first upconverted beam, thereby also enhancing the efficiency of the second sum-frequency generation (SFG).
