Background: The first year after surgery is a period of significant change, during which patients are highly concerned and sensitive about the outcomes.
Objective: This study aimed to measure objectively the improvements and changes in the lower face and neck over the course of 1 year after rhytidectomy in Asian.
Materials And Methods: This study included a total of 50 patients, comprising 100 hemifaces, who underwent extended deep-plane rhytidectomy using a composite flap from January 2017 to December 2022. The patients' antero-posterior and lateral photographs at pre-surgery, between 2 weeks and 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months after surgery were analyzed retrospectively.
Results: Measurements for each period and site are revealed a general trend where the most significant decrease occurred between 2 weeks and 1 month after surgery. This was followed by a slight increase at 3 months, with a subsequent decrease observed at 6 and 12 months after surgery.
Conclusion: Objective assessment of lower face and neck at each period is considered to be potentially valuable as an evaluation resource for both patients and surgeons.

Background: Soft tissue specifications and facial values vary depending on the underlying skeletal structures. To achieve the ideal treatment result and patient satisfaction, one must know the attractive soft tissue specifications compatible with each type of malocclusion. This study aims to analyze the facial measurements that contribute to perceived facial attractiveness in patients with vertical growth patterns and skeletal class I malocclusion, focusing on gender-specific differences.

We present a 22-year-old man with a well-established medical history who had been complaining of 4 days of frothy dark urine, bilateral lower limb swelling, and puffiness on his face. For a month before his presentation, he had many bilateral skin lesions on his lower limbs that were leaking pus.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with small-diameter stents (SDS), that are equal to or less than 2.5 mm in diameter, face increased risks of restenosis and complications. This study aimed to evaluate the 1-year follow-up to assess the rate of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) and bleeding risk between ticagrelor and clopidogrel in T2DM patients after SDS implantation.

Objectives: This study investigates the clinical and patient-reported outcomes of full-endoscopic parotidectomy compared to the conventional approach.
Methods: Between July 2021 and December 2023, patients who underwent parotidectomy were prospectively enrolled and assigned to either the full-endoscopic parotidectomy group (Group I) or the conventional surgery group (Group II). Clinical outcomes were evaluated, and patient-reported outcomes were assessed using a Visual Analogue Scale and five FACE-Q scales.

Background: There is emerging evidence for the role of exercise in optimising function, quality of life (QoL) and reducing hospital length-of-stay if commenced prior to undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). A local pilot study of a prehabilitation and rehabilitation intervention during ASCT for myeloma patients indicated promising results and was adapted to translate into local clinical care. The aim of this report is to describe an overview of a newly implemented physiotherapist-led exercise prehabilitation and rehabilitation service delivered as part of the myeloma ASCT pathway, and present real-world findings related to changes in function and QoL.
