In this study, we developed a nitrate-coordinated iron-nickel hydroxide [N-FeNi(OH)] catalyst for hydrazine oxidation-assisted seawater splitting. Replacement of O evolution by hydrazine oxidation in a two-electrode setup resulted in a cell voltage of 1.20 V at 100 mA cm. This represents a voltage reduction of 470 mV compared to conventional seawater splitting. Additionally, N-FeNi(OH) demonstrated remarkable stability over a period of 60 hours.
