Coherence Imaging Charge Exchange Recombination Spectroscopy (CICERS) is an imaging diagnostic installed in Wendelstein 7-X from which 2D maps of ion temperature (Ti) and impurity density (nZ) are obtained. The improved spatial resolution and coverage, as compared to standard Charge eXchange Recombination Spectroscopy (CXRS), with which these parameters can be assessed, come at the expense of spectral resolution, requiring the development of new strategies to isolate the active charge exchange contribution from passive and Bremsstrahlung radiation. In this work, a new approach based on the modeling of background radiation is presented and applied to the derivation of 2D Ti maps. These are compared to the Ti profiles derived from standard CXRS, which found excellent agreement up to the edge (ρ > 0.8). The CICERS view is implemented in the pyFIDAsim code, which is used to provide further insight into the spatial localization of the radiation as measured by the diagnostic. Moreover, an absolute intensity calibration is carried out, and, coupled with pyFIDAsim, the first 2D nC maps are obtained and validated against CXRS data.

All cells are innately equipped with systems to detect and respond to electrical inputs in the form of reactive oxygen species, redox signaling, or membrane depolarization through ion exchange. Electrogenetics aims to leverage these cellular systems to create interfaces between biology and electronics, in order to achieve levels of precision in spatiotemporal control of gene and protein expression that are not possible with chemo-, opto-, or thermogenetics. In this review, we discuss the impact, challenges, and prospects of electrogenetics in the context of recent cutting-edge applications.

Findings from 122 supervisor-employee dyads showed that employees' other-oriented emotional intelligence is related to their organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) via the mechanisms of building high-quality exchanges with one's leaders and coworkers. We theorize and find evidence for unique mechanisms involved in mediating the effects of other-oriented emotional intelligence on taking charge and helping.

Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) doping is a widely employed strategy to facilitate anhydrous proton transport in high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs). However, significant H3PO4 leaching during long-term operation poses critical challenges to maintaining membrane stability and proton conductivity. Herein, H3PO4 is incorporated into positively charged nanochannels of quaternized covalent organic framework membranes (QACOFMs), leveraging strong electrostatic interactions and confinement effects to achieve exceptional H3PO4 retention under hydration conditions.

Colloidal quantum dot (CQD) near-infrared (NIR) upconversion devices (UCDs) can directly convert low-energy NIR light into higher energy visible light without the need for additional integrated circuits, which is advantageous for NIR sensing and imaging. However, the state-of-the-art CQD NIR upconverters still face challenges, including high turn-on voltage (), low photon-to-photon (p-p) upconversion efficiency, and low current on/off ratio, primarily due to inherent limitations in the device structure and operating mechanisms. In this work, we developed a CQD NIR UCD based on a hole-only injection mechanism.
