The aim was to explore the effectiveness of enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) therapy in patients with severe angina pectoris/ chronic heart failure symptoms, who were not suitable candidates for invasive treatment. This retrospective study employed a comprehensive methodology that includes individualized treatment, continuous monitoring, and thorough pre- and postprogram evaluations to assess the efficacy of EECP therapy. The standard protocol involved 35 one-hour treatments, with flexibility for extensions based on therapeutic progress. When pre- and posttreatment results were analyzed, EECP improved the original functional class compared with pretreatment. The mean difference in the functional class was 1.32 (0.92), < 0.0001. Six-minute walk (6MW) distance improved from 383.6 m (110.24) to 423.1 m (121.50) with mean difference of 37.1 (44.99), < 0.0001. Duke Activity Status Index (DASI) score improved from 3.9 (2.75) to 6.0 (4.17) with mean difference of 2.16 (3.8), < 0.0001. Training metabolic equivalents (METs) improved from 3.0 (0.74) to 4.0 (1.57) with mean difference of 1.04 (1.2), < 0.0001. Weekly anginal events decreased from 13.1 (13.19) to 3.2 (7.38) with mean difference of -9.78 (11.7), < 0.0001. EECP resulted in improvement of angina pectoris functional class, the 6MW distance, reduction in the number of hospitalizations in first year posttreatment, a significant decrease in sublingual nitroglycerin use, improvement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and improvement of DASI score.

Purpose: This study aimed to establish a role framework and organizational redesign for home care services in response to the evolving internal and external environments in South Korea. The specific objectives were: (1) to perform a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis based on the external and internal factors related to home care services; (2) to propose key ideas for restructuring services and human resources; and (3) to suggest strategies for enhancing the quality of home-based care services.
Patients And Methods: The policy landscape for older adult healthcare in Seoul, South Korea along with the current state and challenges of home care services were reviewed.

Combining photothermal and chemotherapy using single nanoplatform is an emerging direction in cancer nanomedicine. Herein, a magnetic field (MF) induced combination of chemo/photothermal therapy is demonstrated using FeO@mSiO@Au core@shell@satellites nanoparticles (NPs) loaded with chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX), both and An application of an external MF to the NPs dispersion causes magnetophoretic movement and aggregation of the NPs. While the synthesized NPs only slightly absorb light at ∼800 nm, their aggregation results in a significant near infrared (NIR) absorption associated with plasmon resonance coupling between the Au satellites in the NPs aggregates.

This case report evaluates current diagnostic and treatment approaches for intrapelvic acetabular migration, focusing on the rare but serious complication of acute limb ischemia following hip arthroplasty. A 67-year-old female with a history of total hip arthroplasty 10 years ago presented with acute limb ischemia after experiencing a traumatic event 72 hours prior, which had caused displacement of her hip prosthesis. Notably, she had a history of a traumatic event two years earlier for which she had been advised to undergo surgical correction, which she had refused.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of an MRI radiomics stacking ensemble learning model, which combines T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging (CE-T1WI) with deep learning-based automatic segmentation, for preoperative prediction of the prognosis of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation of uterine fibroids.
Methods: This retrospective study collected data from 360 patients with uterine fibroids who underwent HIFU treatment. The dataset was sourced from Center A (training set: N = 240; internal test set: N = 60) and Center B (external test set: N = 60).
