Aim: To compare endoscopic versus microscopic method for tympanoplasty in terms of Graft uptake and hearing outcome.

Material And Methods: A randomized prospective observational study was done. 60 patients who came to ENT outpatient of tertiary care teaching hospital requiring operative intervention for inactive mucosal chronic otitis media. Randomization was done and patients divided into two groups with Group A undergoing endoscopic tympanoplasty and Group B undergoing microscopic tympanoplasty. Post operative graft uptake and hearing improvement were compared between both groups. Intraoperatively visualization of middle ear structures, surgeon's comfort, duration of surgery, post operative pain, giddiness was compared. in both the groups.

Results: Total 60 patients got randomly divided in the two groups. There was no difference in terms post op graft success rate and post operative hearing improvement in both the groups Intra operative visualization of middle ear structures better in the endoscopic group and also the surgical time was significantly less in endoscopic group.

Conclusion: On comparing endoscopic versus microscopic tympanoplasty in patients of mucosal chronic otitis media, success rate in terms of graft acceptance and hearing improvement was equal between both groups. However, visualisation of middle ear structures was better in endoscopic method. Operating time was shorter in endoscopic tympanoplasty.

Introduction: Thermal ablative methods (such as argon plasma coagulation (APC) and soft tip snare coagulation (STSC) are commonly used to treat polyp margins. We aim to appraise the current literature and compare clinical outcomes between patients with treated (with APC vs. STSC) and non-treated endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) margins.

Aim: This research was designed to make a comparison of the treatment outcomes of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (En-DCR) in nasolacrimal duct obstruction (NLDO) with and without chronic dacryocystitis.

Methods: NLDO (obstruction group) and chronic dacryocystitis (dacryocystitis group) patients treated with En-DCR in the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from March 2021 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to CT dacryocystography, patients in each group were assigned into the high obstruction group (obstruction located in the lacrimal sac) and the low obstruction group (obstruction located at or below the junction of the nasolacrimal duct and dacryocystis).

Patient preferences for treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

Department of Head and Neck Surgery and Communication Sciences, Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC, USA.

Choosing between revision endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) versus biologic therapy for recurrent chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyposis (CRSwNP) is a complex, multifaceted decision that involves not only clinical and financial factors but also patient preferences. Currently, there are no quantitative studies investigating patient preferences for CRSwNP treatment options. Increased awareness of patient-centered approaches to treatment warrant further investigation.

Background: The evolution of endoscopic surgery has introduced a multitude of instruments, available in both disposable and reusable variants, influencing practices across various surgical specialties. Instrument selection is complex, considering individual preferences and institutional factors such as costs, instrument performance, and factors related to cleaning and sterilization. Notably, environmental sustainability has gained prominence due to the threat of climate change.

Background: Currently, there is limited scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of fluorescent cholangiography in emergency cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis. The primary aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of near-infrared fluorescent cholangiography (NIRF-C) in different severity degrees of acute cholecystitis.

Materials And Methods: Inclusion criteria were patients with a clinical and radiological (abdominal ultrasound and/or computed tomography) diagnosis of acute cholecystitis based on the revised 2018 Tokyo guidelines who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy within 24-72 h from the onset of symptoms and patients with ASA score of 0-3.
