Jet production from hadronic Higgs decays at future lepton colliders will have significantly different phenomenological implications than jet production via off-shell photon and -boson decays, owing to the fact that Higgs bosons decay to both pairs of quarks and gluons. We compute observables involving flavoured jets in hadronic Higgs decays to three partons at Born level including next-to-leading order corrections in QCD (i.e., up to . The calculation is performed in the framework of an effective theory in which the Higgs boson couples directly to gluons and massless -quarks retaining a non-vanishing Yukawa coupling. For the energy of the leading and subleading flavoured jet, the angular separation and the invariant mass of the leading - pair, we contrast the results obtained in both Higgs-decay categories and using either of the infrared-safe flavoured jet algorithms flavour- and flavour-dressing.

The process in the inverted hierarchy scenario of the 2HDM type-I at the LHC.

While searching at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for the production and decay of the CP-odd scalar ( ) in the 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) with Natural Flavour Conservation (NFC) via the channels (through one-loop triangle diagrams) and (with GeV or GeV, with off-shell), respectively, a factorisation of the two processes is normally performed, with the state being on-shell. While this approach is gauge-invariant, it is not capturing the presence of either of the following two channels: (through one-loop triangle diagrams) or (through one-loop box diagrams). As the resolution of the mass cannot be infinitely precise, we affirm that all such contributions should be computed simultaneously, whichever the ( ) decay(splitting) products, thereby including all possible interferences amongst themselves.

Article Synopsis
  • - The ATLAS experiment at the LHC conducted a search for long-lived particles (LLPs) using a large dataset (140 fb^{-1}) from proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV, focusing on LLPs with masses from 5 to 55 GeV that decay within the inner detector.
  • - The study considered scenarios where LLPs are produced from exotic Higgs boson decays and models involving axionlike particles (ALPs).
  • - No significant findings above expected background levels were detected, leading to the establishment of upper limits on various production rates involving the Higgs boson and the top quark related to LLPs and ALPs.

Hunting for Bileptons at Hadron Colliders.

INFN, Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, Via E. Fermi 54, 00044 Frascati, Italy.

I review possible signals at hadron colliders of bileptons, namely doubly charged vectors or scalars with lepton number L=±2, as predicted by a 331 model, based on a SU(3)c×SU(3)L×U(1)X symmetry. In particular, I account for a version of the 331 model wherein the embedding of the hypercharge is obtained with the addition of three exotic quarks and vector bileptons. Furthermore, a sextet of SU(3)L, necessary to provide masses to leptons, yields an extra scalar sector, including a doubly charged Higgs, i.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers used varied experimental searches with and without missing transverse momentum to analyze a Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (2HDM) augmented by a pseudo-scalar that mediates interactions between ordinary and dark matter.
  • The analysis utilized data from proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider between 2015 and 2018, totaling up to 139 fb.
  • Three key searches were statistically combined, focusing on large missing transverse momentum along with decaying Z bosons, Higgs bosons decaying to bottom quarks, and charged Higgs bosons interacting with top and bottom quarks, to derive constraints for various benchmark scenarios in the 2HDM+a
